Without a word

*Anna POV* I remember my last date with Adrian Knight clearly. It was the last day of school in my sophomore year of high school. We went on a date that evening. It had to be special because he was leaving for warrior training camp in a few days. He would be gone all summer and I knew we would miss each other dearly. He was going to take me into town for a romantic dinner cruise. Since he was leaving in a few days and school was over for the summer, my parents extended my curfew. I wore a bluish silver dress that captured my curves perfectly. Adrian wore a blue polo shirt and slacks which accentuated his physique. As soon as I saw him, I knew that the night would be memorable. We walked to his car and he opened the door. On the drive we talked about the river cruise and the fact he would leave for training in a few days. I didn't want to think about him leaving. Somehow, I knew he would not return to Lavendar Moon. He insisted he loved me. He would write every day and look forward to returning. He never returned.
