Chapter # 5

The limit of my patience is falling apart and nothing could fix it back, there was something malevolent endlessly glimmering in her eyes and the more I try to ignore this look the more it’s haunting me, pushing me inside the loop of misery, bringing all those dead and undesirable memories from my heart, making it burn endlessly in a fiery fire.  Sighed and trying to let out my frustration in the form of exhaled for the limitless time, I rose from my seat and went to attend the meeting and due to the overflowing fury all because of a damn bodyguard, I was harsher than usual during the meeting and took my anger on the poor employees.  I don’t understand why her one glance has such an effect on me. Enrage, I left the meeting room and went to the rooftop.  “Leave me alone.” I ordered. “That’s something we can’t do.” The emotionless woman said. “Then get out of my face, I don’t want to see you anywhere near me.” I stopped, turning to her and scowling at her face. Raising a brow and passing a bewildered look, her dead facade came back, “Yes, Sir. You two, Stay with Sir.” She told Freddy and Johnson and left with Lucas.  “What’s her problem?!” I exasperatedly asked Johnson. “Is she a robot or what?!” I continued to curse her in my mind, loosening my tie and leaning on the railing while opening the first two buttons of my shirt. Utterly vexed about this situation. Why am I letting this take a toll on me so much when I could literally mind my own business but how can I ignore the eyes following my movements?  “Who? Irene?” Johnson asked, making a weird face. “Whose else’s eyes are dead as f**k!?” I yelled, growling, running my hand in my hair. “What’s with her eyes?” He asked, still not apprehending the context of my talk but I don't know anyone will because what I felt is meaningless hostility towards a pair of hazel eyes similar to my nightmare. Honestly it’s so distressing and the more I try to get out from these strings of ravage, the more they tangle me.  “Fifth.” They both sighed saying at the same time. “What?” I asked, narrowing my eyes in bewilderment. “You are the fifth person who resents her eyes.” Johnson smirked. See! Her eyes are something malicious that no one could bear the fatality of her eyes. “What’s with her anyways?” I muttered. “No one knows her. She leads a very private life.” Freddy shrugged his shoulders, telling me. Humming in response, I took my cigarette and began to smoke, “Only stolen hopes held such gazes.” I told them. “She may be the best among us but due to this, she has been fired many times.” He told me. Letting the smoke in the exhale, I sighed. “If she’s been fired then who can she be the best?” I asked. “Her abilities are remarkable. Every time she gets fired, the clients give no specific reason.” Johnson told me. Nodding, I continued to smoke while thinking about this, trying to calm my mind and now I believe I can’t get her to leave but she can turn me insane by her demeanour with the question roaming in my mind: Who are you Irene Ziven? What darkness lurks inside you?  That woman is no less than a mystery box.  As I was on the rooftop, I received a text from Esmei.  Hey! Are you free? Yeah, just now, why? I replied.  Great! I am coming to get ya. Be ready and don’t forget to keep your hot stuff close ;)  He replied, which ruined my mood. Shaking my head and crushing the cigarette under my feet, I went back down. When I climbed back down the stairs, I saw Irene with Lucas, Rolling my eyes at her, I went to my cabin.  Soon Esmei came, “Hey man, Hey sweetheart.” He winked at Irene who showed no response. “Strong stuff, I guess.” He laughed a little. “Enough Esmei, Don’t treat her like an object.” I said, getting and taking my things. “Okay gentleman, shall we leave now?”  “Okay… come.” We went to the parking lot, Irene was about to sit with me but I stopped her. “Wait, you are not coming with me.”  “I am.” Her reply came immediately. “Johnson, come with me.” I motioned him to come after me. “You can come with me, Irene!” Esmei shouted from behind, leaning on his car. “I am sure it’s more comfortable than this stone’s.” You don’t know who’s a stone here. I jeerfully thought in my mind and left with Esmei at the bar.  We were sitting on the counter while they were standing a fair distance from me. “Damien, dude why are you treating her like this?” He asked. “Don’t ask! Have you ever looked into her eyes?” I scoffed. “Surely enticing enough.” He smirked. “If you stop seeing women with lust, then you will understand.” I mocked. “It won’t change the fact that you are getting worked up about something trivial.” He shrugged. “You will call it trivial but dude, do you know she has been fired many times because of this corpse-like behaviour.” I said irked. “Then why don’t you try to do something about it?” He suggested. “As If I can.” I let out a dry laugh. “I have an idea.” I asked, raising a brow, cautiously scanning his form to speak further and he gave me literally the worst advice. “Seduce her." A weird expression took over my face, apprehending his absurd words for a few seconds with undesirable thoughts as soon it was replaced by seething, "What?! Are you out of your mind! I cannot stand looking at her and you are telling me to tempt this robot?" I asked angrily, not believing he actually said it. Telling me to do it, among all the advice he found the shittest one. "Dude… chill. I was just suggesting… you know a method to evoke emotions in her." He shrugged his shoulders, finishing his drink in one go while laughing at my reaction which deepened my frown more, pissed at his words. "I don't give a f**k about her emotions. I only want to get rid of her." I told him deadpanned, shaking my head in disappointment. I am an i***t to think he could actually give worthy advice and take a sip of my drink. "My idea was one of the ways to get rid of her." He stopped laughing and smiled at me, obscene still glimmering in his eyes. Scoffing, I rolled my eyes in irritation, "Yeah right. Giving her false hopes and breaking them, killing her completely." I mocked. I have no intentions of doing this. I do want to leave her but not by toying emotions. I am not him. "You care too much about emotions anyways. Leave her. She is such a beauty and you are wasting it by involving feelings." He sighed, turning to take a look at Irene who stood in the corner not looking up with those usual expressions plastered over her face. Irked, I turned his face to me, "I am not like you who does things for only pleasure." I told him. "And what do you mean by this?" His smirk wiped off, raising a brow at me by my words, slightly angered. "I mean what I say. Always using women for pleasure, never giving a damn about what others shall feel." I mocked, indulging in my drink. "Here I am giving you an idea to eradicate her because you can't simply fire her and you are badmouthing me?" He asked, outraged. "As if your deeds are pure, I will get inspired from them." I taunted him. "Shut up, Damien. If you don't want this angel. Give her to me…" He said angrily, turning away and looking at her with his lustful gaze again as his seriousness faded as amusement took over, "Besides, I will take great care of her." He said, licking his lips seductively, “Sure enticing enough.” He continued to the point it made me revolt. "Humph. You are not gonna change." I sneered. "That's why. You can either immerse in gloom or we can get wasted and forget about your problem for a brief moment." He chuckled, turning to me again, smiling. "Now that's what I want to hear." I smiled back. "Wanna have a competition?" He challenged me with a cocky smirk as I replied with a smirk, confident he couldn’t beat me in a drinking competition, "Sure…" I accepted his offer. We ordered our drinks and Esmei began to say, "3, 2, 1.. Go!" We started, taking shot after shot to the point of losing count and our senses, with barely opened eyes, visibly drunk. I cling on Esmei’s shoulder, taking a look at Irene with my blurred vision, lost senses. "Ah!! You are right dude… seemingly… she is extremely desirable." I smirked, letting out a suppressed laugh. "That's what I'm saying! Look at her.. Either dead but what an enticing stuff." He slammed his hand on the counter ,declaring her hot. Unable to keep his head stable, almost dozing. "Guess I never paid heed to her... I focused on her eyes, that's why I failed to notice other features." I hummed, not removing my eyes from hers which were fixed down. "Hell yeah!" He cheered, putting his hands in the air. We remained like this, talking about random stuff but then a brief silence came between us and he called me, "Hey…" "Hmm?" I hummed, blinking and trying to not sleep. "Can I be the guard of her body for one night?" He flirted as I broke into a peal of laughter at his comment, knowing his intentions too well. "Haha. We will see…" I patted his back and pulled away but stumbled with a guy with a strong buildup. "Hey watch your way!" He scowled. "Huh? What did you say?" I challenged, grabbing his collar, barely standing, drunk. "Are you deaf? Move outta my way." he frowned, pushing me back. Esmei also stood up, holding my shoulder for support and I continued to challenge the guy, "And what if I don't?" "I will smack-" He was cut off when Irene joined the conversation with a sigh, she said softly, "I apologize, Sir. Can you please leave?" She came closer with others. "Hah! This pathetic woman is your strongest?!" Esmei mocked, laughing and making me frown. "Well, if a pretty lady like yourself is saying." The guy smiled faintly but then glared at us. "Thank-" Irene was about to thank him but I cut off, not bearing her ending this matter so easily, knowing it’s for the best. Maybe I can use this situation to my advantage. "No! What's your use if you can't do this much?" I tried to rile her up, growling at her face while she stood affected with hands at back as usual. "Don't you have shame to hide behind a woman's back?" He asked, furrowing his brows, disgusted while burning me in a fiery fire of wrath. "What did you say?" I snarled, grabbing his collar again but ready to punch him but Irene grabbed my arm and twisted it back, pushing me away from him. Lost in the deepest depth of rage but her action I yanked her hand away, “What the hell is your problem!?” I yelled at her. "Don't you have any respect for women?" He asked, giving me a repugnant look, pushing me away from her. “That’s how you treat women?!” He growled but Irene came in between. "Please Sir. Don't bother. It's alright." She said with a sharp exhale, putting her hand in between, not raising her head. “You’re such a vulnerable girl! Tsk!” I mocked, moving away. "Only if… you are saying." The guy cursed me under his breath and then took a deep breath, "You two better watch it before I could break your bones." He left warning us. “Thank you.” She bowed a little. Amid the extreme fury and Irene’s actions of avoiding violence- which was a right choice but it invoked unjust intentions in my mind, showing me a path of what I should do with her; A way to move her out of my way.
