The guys dropped Esmei at home while the pathetic woman dropped me. Scowling on the whole way while smirking internally to espy the moment I was dying for. I swear I have never felt electrified to fire someone as much as I am with her.
For the rest of the way, I held a growl at my face, clenching and unclenching my hands to contain the lava which could erupt like a volcano and ran my hand in my hairs, making them messy.
With a pissed look, I threw my coat and tie on the couch and opened a few buttons of my shirt. Johnson and others were already present looking at Irene with pity while the cold woman remained the same.
Pacing around for a while, I stopped in front of her and began to yell at her face. "What's your use if you are going to beg someone to spare me huh?!"
"Go to sleep, Sir. You are drunk." Her impassive tone came, pinching the bridge of her more, Increasing the intensity of my impatience with her, exasperating me to no boundary.
"Don't Tell me what to do!" I shouted, curling my hands in a fist. She closed her one eye, a confused look lingering on her face. The blank stare is annoying me too much. "What's your use if you can't do this much!?" I snarled, about to grab her collar but the thin line of dignity pulled me back, taking a step back with a sour face.
"Mr Eryx, I rather prefer avoiding unnecessary fights." She replied, deadpanned. Not raising her eyes and meeting mine. Why is it a massive deal for me?
"And what if he actually hit me!?" I asked, my voice low but filled with vehement.
"But, He didn't." Her reply came with a shrug.
"Thank you for your cowardice." I mocked.
"If a dog barks at me, do you expect me to bark back?" She reasoned and her straightforward and correct replies which left me with the inability to speak are agonizing for me.
"Yes. Because that's what your job is, so you better stick to it." I spat at her face. "It's unreasonable." She replied, giving me an odd face as if my argument was meaningless- it was.
"Don't tell me what to do!!" I yelled but a voice came from inside me ‘When you have no answer, you take the side of wrath.’ ignoring it I opened my mouth to say something but Lucas called me, "Sir-"
"You don't come in between." I motioned him to not meddle in hers and mine conversation. "What's your use? What is your duty? Tell me, huh" I jeered.
"I am your bodyguard." She replied blandly as it broke my tranquil and the talk of the heart finally came to my lips, shouting at her face.
"AND I f*****g HATE THIS TONE OF YOURS! YOU WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE A f**k IF I DIE RIGHT HERE AND NOW." I yelled what was building in my mind, what I wanted to tell her, The main reason for me to hold endless detest for her and to my words of seething she replied aloof,
"I won't." My eyes widened for a second to hear this. She actually said it, she wouldn’t care if I die. If someone would point a gun at my head, I barely doubt she will help me, the way her words came out it’s unbelievable.
"Irene!" Lucas called her sternly, furious at her words too.
"No, Lucas. He is right. I have no attachment to him. I would simply fail my job if something happens, nothing more, nothing less." She replied without a glint of emotion, leaving me flabbergast to hear her answer.
Stunned, I stared at her for a few seconds, barely making my words in a vague whisper, "You're… unbelievable."
"Irene, enough. Sir is drunk but you are not." Lucas scolded her but she stood, not giving a damn what happened by her icy words.
"Don't meddle." I warned him in a low tone, breathing heavily, I am certainly not much drunk to disregard her demeanour towards her client she vowed to protect.
"Irene-" This time Johnson spoke up but I scowled,
"Out."
Blinking Irene raised a brow at me, thinking she might have heard me wrong, "Hmm?"
"You are fired, get out." I enunciated.
"I understand." She nodded in acknowledgement, not caring about it, taking a step back.
"Have you lost your mind, Irene?" Freddy called her.
"Take care of Mr Eryx. Goodbye, Sir." She said, taking out her phone and leaving with a wave, maybe calling the agency to let them know she has been fired.
"Ire-" Before anyone could speak in her favour or talk to her I spoke up,
"If you want to join her, you are free to go." I warned them to shut them immediately.
"You guys stay here. You know what to do.” She said, stopping at the door and left not before sparing a glance at me from the corner of her eyes and before it I couldn’t help but to notice the faint smirk appeared on the corner of her lips which evoked a shiver from my core in strange consternation mixed with dread but in the end…
I felt nothing but victorious because I have finally got rid of her.

"What the hell did you do?! I found the best of them for you and you fired her?!" Dad shouted at my face. I stood in the living room, Mom was pacing around in stress while Dad was getting angry as if I had rejected a girl of his choice for marriage.
"She was getting on my nerves." I replied, closing my arms at my chest in annoyance while he continued to scold me.
"This shows she is doing her best!" He shouted again and I have no intention of hearing further because I have done nothing wrong. It's my choice who to keep and who to fire, he can’t do this.
"Enough Dad. I didn't want her, I fired her. Besides, I have other three. I am fine." I replied with a shrugged,
"You are not getting it, i***t!" He shouted again.
"Why are you getting vexed about something trivial." I asked, frustrated, rubbing my temples to contain my madness inside me because only I know the effect of her hazel orbs on me. How it enraged me is known to me.
"I am vexed about my son's life." He sighed, taking a seat. “Mom, at least you say something.” I called her. “What can I say? Your Dad is right.” She said, rubbing her hands and sitting down.
"Nothing is going to happen to me." I told them, taking a seat as well.
"You don't understand the fatality of the situation. Don't take it lightly." Dad continued to say, his voice finally soothing but still worried.
"I am fine, Dad. Stop it." I said, getting irritated at this point.
"Irene's flairs are known to everyone. What if they are waiting for you to dismiss her? Knowing in her presence nothing could harm you?!" He continued to ramble, doing a facepalm. I narrowed my eyes in fury, going weary of their behaviour. Amazed how a suite of yesterday is now creating upheaval.
"You are overthinking, Dad." I told him sternly, getting up to leave.
"I am not, Damien. Son, we are utterly tensed about you and in these dire conditions if you act like a brat, it would result in our worst outcome. Please try to understand." His voice turned dejected in between, lowering his head. I can understand his worry but sticking to her is getting too much. Why is he going too far for me to be with such a woman who doesn’t care about my life?
"Dad, I don't understand why you are obsessing over her? I can easily find someone better than her." I said, massaging my forehead in tension about their care, why do they think all the afflictions of the world are going to be thrown at my head?
"You wouldn't get it unless you see it from your very eyes… her abilities." Dad continued to praise her and before I lost my cool, I rose from my seat and walked away waving my hand to shrug the matter off. "Yeah.. Yeah.. We will see about it later."
"Huff.. That kid." He sighed as I left.
Today is Sunday so I thought about paying a visit to Esmei, but I didn't hear from him so I thought about checking on him. Never failing to flex his hot body, he walked down half naked, with a girl. “See you later babe.” He winked seductively at her and came to me, “Hey Dude.”
“Hey.” I gave him a side hug. He noticed Irene was not with me and asked, "So… where is your princess?" He asked with a mocking laugh, plopping himself on the couch, to his smirk I replied, bursting from exhilaration from inside, "I fired her."
"What?! Why..?" He asked, not believing I truly did this.
"You are asking why? Don't you remember what happened at the bar?" I asked with a shrug, not knowing why my parents and now him are making a big deal out of it.
"I do, Man... She made the right choice, man… it was better than creating a rucksack." He told me.
"You are taking her side too?" I asked angrily, not believing even him or was giving me stupid ideas to stay away from her is now saying this.
"I am not, just stating the fact. Besides, fun aside. I have heard she possesses remarkable abilities." He informed, putting his one leg over the other.
"To hell with them!" I said stressed, raising my voice.
"Why are you taking this grudge on a personal level?" Esmei asked contemplating my form, not comprehending why I am getting worked up about a girl.
Sighing, I calmed down and called him after a moment, "Esmei…"
"Yeah dude?" He asked, motioning me to continue, "Does her eyes remind you of someone?" I asked hesitantly, remembering that nightmare.
"Nope. But yeah, your detest for them." he said jokingly, laughing a little but the dire look on my face told him that I am not fooling around.
"I am serious." I said. “Okay… okay…”
He hummed, holding his chin thinking and finally replied, "Nope. Why?"
"Nothing… forget it. I need to clear my mind. Talk to you later… bye." I said, exhaling and getting up to leave.
I motioned Lucas to be with me while the other two came from their car as we left. On the way, my mind was lost in unfathomable thoughts of extreme consternation to think about the position I am stuck in. I stopped the car at a random parking lot and cursed under my breath. “Are you alright, Sir?” Lucas asked but I didn’t reply and put my head on the steering wheel, losing my capability to think or grasp the lethal poison spreading in the air, knowing I could get intoxicated too but amid my dread and fury, I disregarded my protection and got rid of her.
Closing my eyes I began to think,
'How did the murderer entered the locked room and the fire broke out when it wasn't suicide?... They are certainly planned murders. Made thoroughly with no chance of getting caught. It wouldn't be the work of one person.. It must have involved more than one person to conduct such a master strategy.' I thought. That’s right, this must be the work of a group with a certain purpose but it’s not my place to solve mysteries. Let the cops do their work, I only need to focus on my insurance.
1 Week Later:-
It’s been a week since I have fired Irene and just I have said, nothing could harm and I am completely fine. “I am leaving early, Perry.” I told her, taking my stuff and sat in my car. “I am taking my girlfriend to dinner, don’t sit with me tonight.” I told them about Zella.
“But, Sir.” Lucas tried to say, “No, Buts. I don’t want you guys to invade my privacy. I need some time to be alone with her.” I ordered in an assertive tone and sat in my car and drove off. They were coming after me, I turned on music, wanting to lose the tension in my mind by spending some time with her and forgetting about everything but it seems like the word pacification has been obliterated from my life as I noticed a black mercedes takeover my guard’s car, blocking the way and chased me.
Fuck. I thought and sped up, taking a turn, wanting to confirm is it my delusion or are they truly following me and turns out they were following me. “Why do I have the worst luck?!” I cursed, driving on the empty road. Why do you live in the countryside, Zella!? As I was trying to get out of their way another car came in front of me blocking my way. I pushed the emergency brakes and jerked up.
A few guys wearing masks came, before I Could take my gun out for protection, they dragged me out from my car.
"Let me go!" I tried to punch but they held me back.
"Take him! Come, come! Hurry!" Another voice came from behind, I tried to get out from their grasp but to no avail as they covered my mouth with chloroform.
"Mhm!!" I tried everything I could as Dad’s words stuck in my mind drowning in penitence,
"Irene's flairs are known to everyone. What if they are waiting for you to dismiss her? Knowing in her presence nothing could harm you?!"
I stopped moving ,losing my senses but then the sound of gunshots reached my ears and my mind was blurry but could clearly see how wrong I was…
