Their Infinity

Chapter 18

Ananya's POV:

        He has been driving for over 15 mins now. He didn't say anything neither did I. After about another 15 mins what felt like an eternity, he stopped in front of a dhaba. 'Now, what is going on in his monstrous head.' 

         Without telling me anything he moved out of the car towards the dhaba. ' What am I supposed to do now. Should I just wait in the car or follow him.' While I was contemplating these thoughts he turned around and asked me, " Do you plan on making that car your home. Come out now fast". I shrieked with his order. I hurriedly unbuckled the seat belt and followed him. We went and sat on one of the tables.

         The owner of the dhaba came and started talking to the monster. Monster was also laughing and talking which was quite rare. Then he asked for the order. Without even knowing my preference, monster told him to get the regular and to make it two. I just rolled my eyes at him. He looked at me and there was a different expression in his eye which I couldn't decipher. 

        Then,  I thought of irritating him. I told him sheepishly, " You know Veer sir offered me a job in his company and I was thinking of accpeting his offer." 

        He looked at me and casually said, " May be that would be better for everyone."

        What the heck! He didn't mind me going somewhere else. Now I am seriously regretting my decision. I told him with a curt voice, " Fine then. I will call him and tell him that I am accepting his offer."

        The food arrived and the aroma was perfect. Without even giving him a glance I digged into the food and I guess I might have left a small moan. The food was that tasty. I was eating as a hungry lioness.

        "Woah, slow down lioness. The food ain't running away anywhere. And besides, both these plates are for you. You can have to your heart's content. And btw, I already know that you rejected Veer's offer." After saying all this he winked at me and left from there.

        'Oh god. Was he eavesdropping on our conversation. What else did he hear?' I decided to deal with that later and thought of concentrating on the yummy food in front of me.  After about 20 mins, I had finished the whole thing. I still yearned for a dessert though. As though the monster read my brain, he was coming towards me with something in his hand.

        He handed me the matka kulfi which is one of my favourite. I thanked him and asked why didn't he get one for himself. He told, " I am not a sweet person." 

        ' Arghhh, who on earth is not a sweet person!' Then I told him, "Listen, I don't share my food and especially my dessert but I am ready to give you three bites because you bought me to such a nice place."

         " No, it's ....."

         Before he could complete his sentence, I force fed him. In that process, he got some kulfi besides his lip. I wiped that with my finger and unknowingly licked it. He was looking at me as if I had developed horns. Then I told him, " I don't like wasting food." 

         " It is tasty btw. I hope I am getting my two more bites" he said smirking.

         " Ofcourse, I am a woman of my words" I said and fed him two more bites. Then I finished the whole kulfi and we went towards the car. This time I decided to put my seat belt on my own. And then I noticed that we stopped in front of  jewellery store. 

         " Why did we stop here?", I asked him curiously. I thought he would not reply properly and give some taunt but he said, " My baby sister is coming today from London.  I want to gift her something."

         " Oh. So you go and come fast. I will wait here only", I said politely.

         " Make your self useful. I don't know anything about jewellery. I want you to help me in selecting a gift" he said bluntly.

         I wanted to say something but decided against it. I was already in deep trouble. I didn't want to mess it more. As we went in we were greeted by the manager. Perks of being rich. We were taken to the VIP section. There, the saleswoman was literally trying to flirt with monster but he wasn't giving her any attention. 

        " What does you sister like?, I asked him.

        " She likes everything that I give her" he said proudly.

          I knew it was useless asking him anything. Then I asked the saleswoman whether they make  customized gifts. She replied positively. Then I turned  towards monster and said, " You can give her a chain with a pendant that has both of ur photos. It would have a personal touch to the gift."

         " I think that would be a great idea. Listen, contact my family photographer and he will send you our photos. Prepare the gift and send it to my house before 6" he told the manager and we left from there.

         On the way back to the office, he moved on a road which brought back my past. I couldn't breathe. I started sweating. He noticed my behaviour and stopped the car. I couldn't take it anymore and stepped out of the car. I was feeling like I will die. He came closer and was trying to calm me down. Nothing was helping. He then did something which was so unexpected.

         He crashed his lips on mine. At first i didn't realize what was happening and I didn't  move. But after a few moments realization hit me and I pushed him with all my might. He stumbled because he was caught unaware but then he recovered himself.

         " How could you do this. You are such a monster. You took away my first kiss" I told him with tears in my eyes.

         He looked at me as though nothing had happened and said, "Listen, you were panicking and stuff. I didn't know what to do. So I did what came to my mind first. But what happened to you suddenly."

        I realized that he was right. I had forgotten about the reason of my panic. Then I took a big sigh and told him, " Three years ago something happened on this road and it really haunts me."

        " It is surprising. Three years ago, I also witnessed something here. I was coming back from a party when I saw that a car was badly injured. There was this girl who was stuck in the car and she was almost unconscious. She had so much of blood on her face I couldn't see her face. I managed to pull her out and then the ambulance arrived and they took the girl to the hospital. I don't really know what hapoened to her then."

         Hearing him say all that brought back all the memories of that bloody night. I couldn't tell him anything. I also remember someone saved me that night. I didn't see his face. I just saw an infinity tattoo that was there on his chest. I also couldn't thank that person. I was not able to speak anything so I just told him to drop me home.

        For the first time without creating any scene he agreed and left me at my house. Before leaving he asked me if I was fine. I told him I was better. And then he left. I was lost in the thoughts of the random stranger who saved me that night. Could it be possible that it was this monster. There is only one way of knowing this. I have to check for the infinity tattoo on his chest. 

        With this new found mission I went to my room, to sleep into oblivion.
