SIMPSON CALLED JEFFERS and Peters to meet in their suite after he returned from the beach. He filled the other agents in on Maggie’s illness and the obvious familiarity between her and Nick. The agents speculated on the cause of Maggie’s illness. It was becoming more imperative that they discover what Charles and Jane were planning, otherwise there could be deadly consequences.
They came to the conclusion that they should take a chance and speak with Nick Wentworth directly about Jane and Charles now that he obviously remembered his wife. Nick was a highly trained marine and his skills would be useful. He would be more effective if he understood the possible threat to himself and Maggie.
