Chapter 1: Attic Of Horror
It was a dark and stormy night in the small town of Millfield. Jenna had decided to spend the evening alone, enjoying the peace and quiet of her family's new house. Her parents were away on a trip, and her younger sister was spending the night at a friend's house. She was curled up on the couch, reading a thriller novel, when she heard a strange noise coming from upstairs.
At first, she dismissed it as a trick of the storm. But as the noise grew louder and more insistent, she couldn't ignore it any longer. With a sense of foreboding, she got up from the couch and slowly made her way up the creaky old staircase to the second floor.
The hallway was dark and shadowy, the only light coming from the occasional flash of lightning outside. She could hear the rain lashing against the windows, and the wind howling through the eaves of the house. Jenna paused at the top of the stairs, listening carefully. The noise seemed to be coming from the attic, a place she rarely ventured into.
The door to the attic was closed, just as she had left it earlier in the day. But now, she could see that it was slightly ajar, as if someone - or something - had opened it. She hesitated for a moment, her heart pounding in her chest. But her curiosity got the better of her, and she slowly pushed the door open, revealing the darkness of the attic beyond.
It was musty and dusty up there, with old boxes and furniture scattered around haphazardly. Jenna's eyes adjusted to the dim light, and she could just make out the outlines of a few objects. But there was something else up there with her, something that was making the strange noise she had heard.
At first, she thought it was a stray animal - a rat or a possum, perhaps. But as she stepped further into the attic, she could see that the noise was too deep, too guttural, to be made by any small creature. It was a low growling sound, almost like a dog, but more menacing.
Jenna felt a cold sweat break out on her skin as she realized that she was not alone in the attic. She took a few steps back, her heart racing in her chest. That's when she saw them - a pair of glowing eyes, staring back at her from the darkness.
For a moment, Jenna was frozen with fear. She could feel the hairs on the back of her neck standing up, and her palms were slick with sweat. The growling grew louder, more insistent, and she knew that she had to get out of there. She turned to leave, but before she could take a step, something lunged at her from the darkness.
Jenna let out a blood-curdling scream as she felt sharp teeth sink into her flesh. She tried to fight back, but the thing was too strong, too fast. It had her in its grip, and it was dragging her further into the darkness of the attic.
She could feel its breath on her face, hot and fetid. The growling had turned into a snarling, guttural sound that made her blood run cold. Jenna knew that she was going to die up there, alone in the dark, with no one to hear her screams.
But then, as suddenly as it had attacked her, the thing released its grip and disappeared into the shadows. Jenna was left lying on the floor, gasping for breath and clutching her wounded arm.
Slowly, Jenna managed to pull herself to her feet, leaning against the wall for support. She could hear the creature growling in the darkness, and she knew that she had to get out of the attic before it was too late.
As she reached the bottom of the stairs, Jenna's heart sank. She begin to take the phone out of her pocket and tried to call 911, but her phone was dead, and she knew that she was on her own.
Jenna's heart was pounding in her chest as she realized that she was not alone. She needed a weapon, something to defend herself against the creature that was stalking her. She raced into the kitchen, hoping to find a knife or some other tool that would give her a fighting chance.
She rummaged through the drawers, but they were all empty. Her panic was rising as she realized that she was defenseless. She began to wonder if she was going to die in this old, cursed house.
Just as Jenna was about to give up hope, she saw a glint of metal in the corner of her eye. She turned to see a set of knives on a magnetic strip on the wall. She raced over and grabbed the largest one, hoping that it would be enough to fend off the creature.
Jenna was pulled backwards, her feet slipping on the floor, and she found herself being dragged up the stairs. She could hear the growling sound getting louder and more intense.
Jenna screamed, her body wracked with pain as the creature dragged her across the kitchen and up the stairs to the attic. She could feel the creature's hot breath on the back of her neck as it dragged her lifeless body to the place where it had attacked her
The next morning, the police found Jenna's twisted and contorted body in the attic, just as they had the first time. The only difference was that now, it was lying in a pool of blood. The local townsfolk whispered about the curse that had befallen the old mansion, about the ghostly creature that haunted its halls.
Some say that on stormy nights, you can still hear the low growl coming from the kitchen, a chilling reminder of what happened to poor Jenna. Others say that the house is haunted by the vengeful spirit of a long-dead resident who died a violent death. But one thing is for sure - the house will never be the same again.
