'Brr.' the doorbell rang before silence enveloped the house again.
'brr' 'brr' brr', the doorbell rang continuously.
"I'm coming! Hold your horses!" A woman in her forties rushed down the stairs to open the front door. "What is wrong with y-" The woman faltered at the sight of the young boy outside.
Just as the woman opened her mouth to spit profanities at the boy, the boy spoke warily.
"Look, I'm not here to make a scene. I just wanted to talk to you about Luca. After witnessing yesterday's incident, it made sense for you to be mad at Luca and I. And I apologize for that. I'm not doing this for you, it's for Luca."
"Do you truly love my son?" The woman interrupted.
"Of course. Being friends with him since diapers, I have come to accept everything about him, only to end up falling hard for him. So yes, I love him." The boy murmured. The tip of his ears turned pink from the confession.
"You have my consent as long as you don't hurt him." The woman chuckled.
"I- um... you're not mad at me?" The boy stammered.
'Of course not, Andrew! You're like a son to me. Now, how about you go see Luca. I'm sure he's dying to see you." The mother smiled warmly, opening the door wide enough to let Andrew in.
Unbeknownst to Andrew, once the door was closed and locked, it wouldn't open again for several days. After climbing the stairs, two steps at a time, Andrew rushed towards the door labelled 'Luca'. Taking a deep breath, Andrew grabbed the door handle and pushed it open. The room had remained the same way it had been before he had left yesterday.
Everything was normal except for the boy in the bed covered in red. A fallen angel.
"I hope you meet my son soon!" The woman cackled.
Andrew, too busy staring at his love's lifeless body sleeping in peace, didn't see the glistening knife that stabbed him in the back.
Falling on the floor, the last thing he saw was the tattoos on his and Luca's hand before black spots clouded his vision.
Andrew smiled hearing Luca's voice read both their tattoos together for one last time.
"Life isn't the same-" "-without you, I'm lost."
"Monsters!"
"Monsters! That's what you both are!"
"Monsters that broke God's laws."
"So you ended up facing his wrath!"
The woman continued to shriek about 'God's wrath' and 'Unforgivable Sins' all while continuing to stab the limp body on the floor.
