Order of Advocates for The Humans

Chapter Eight

We quickly got dressed and ran outside. The smell is the first thing to hit us. Rouges! We look around and see nothing.

So we mind link David, 'Where is everyone? Where are the rouges?'

I grab Quinn's arm as I feel someone come up from behind us. The person walks up and shifts from wolf form into human form, "Alpha, Luna, what are you doing outside? We need to get you inside right away." Airan said. He's part of our pack.

"Airan what's wrong? Where's the rouges? Where's everyone? Why did David mind link us?" Win asks a mile a minute.

Airan says to Quinn, "David mind linked you two to come outside?" He mind links someone by the look on his face.

"David and Catherine... led the rouges right into our territory. They left right after Coral got into the cabin, no one thought anything of it. We figured they were going on a run together like the couple's here do. But when we saw Pete and Carter leaving in the same direction only they were in wolf form. So I had one of our best spies, Katrina, for her lack of scent follow them to see what they were up to. She came back just in time to warn us about an attack against us, set up by David and Catherine." Airan explained. "The rogues came but didn't start fighting because I had everyone except for the Nightblood Pack hide in the cellars. I came to make sure you guys were okay when I heard David and Catherine begging for their lives. I watched to see what was happening and Catherine told the leader of the rogues that she would lure Coral out to them. Only they said they wanted both of you for their lives."

I gasped and shook my head trying to unhear what was just said to us. "I can't believe they would do this. And after all we've done to help them.. how they think we would go down without a fight so they could live. We are the Nightingales we never turn away from protecting our pack and all our lives." I say almost crying.

"What happened after? Where's David and Catherine?"Quinn asked.

"In the middle of the courtyard. With the rogues and the rest of the Nightblood Pack's injured and still training wolves." Sphen walks in and answers.

Quinn looks at all of us and thinks hard then getting an idea. After telling us his idea we all changed again but this time into black ninja style clothes.

"Ready?" Quinn asks.

"Always," Airan, Sphen, and I say at the same time.

We take off towards the courtyard and luckily it has trees around it so we are hiding in the trees as per the plan. Quinn decided for us to hide in the trees because the rogues don't know very much about elves. Let alone the fact that we can make it so that we don't have a scent.

That's why we are the protectors of humans, because werewolves and vampires can't detect us if we don't want them to. We can also cover the others’ scent to keep them safe. So as we were hiding in trees, watching what was happening, the rogue leader comes up to David and Catherine who are on their knees with their hands tied.

"So as we see here the Alpha and Luna didn't show up to help these two traitors that they didn't know was in their encampment." The rogue leader says.

"And as we didn't get our agreement with David and Catherine I will be taking their lives."

I cover my mouth to keep from gasping as I see someone from his pack bring out an ancient guillotine. I ready my bow and arrow and when I see a good shot I take it. Killing two rouges with one arrow. No one notices two wolves drop at the same time, so I wait a second then uncover Quinn,Airan, and Sphen's scent just enough to make the rogue pack look around nervously. Readying up another shot and taking out four more of their members. Then I waited until the point where they were about to put Catherine's head into the device, and took out the executioner. As soon as I took him out I shot several rounds of arrows until the only one left was the leader who was gasping for air.

"So you wanted to see Alpha and Luna? Well, how was our first impression?" Quinn says to the leader.

"Enjoy what little time you have left. Because all you'll be seeing is my guards coming to collect your dead pack and soon yourself. So just lay back and relax." I say shooting arrows into his arms to make sure he can't run off anywhere.
