“WE ARE LEAVING.” My gaze pierced towards him with arms crossed to my chest, not letting those once dreamy gaze fool me once again. My world was crashing. I could barely breathe, think, and act properly. It’s like everything stops rotating for me. From the moment I witnessed such a hideous scene in front of me, it was the exact moment that I knew I had to become selfish and start thinking for myself and my pain… but it wasn’t easy. “This is ridiculous, Gabriela! You are just surprised… and hurt.” Gael reasoned out with such confidence and a smirk plastered on his lips.. “Stop smiling at me as if you didn’t do something that will cost you this marriage, asshole.” I harshly pointed out, glaring at him. “Did you even thought of what will be the consequences the moment you put your d**k into someone else p***y while you have a f*****g wedding ring on as you f**k her? Or you even bother yourself removing that damn ring so you could think that you are a single man who just want to f**k anyone else?” He closed his eyes and didn’t respond. What else can he say when I already witnessed it all right in front of my face? “Have you always been that kind of person? Or was I just too blind in love to notice how shameless you were since then?” I said, not leaving any pity. Five years ago, when we got married, I thought I was one of those happiest and luckiest women in the world because I married a nice man who does not run from any responsibilities and is willing to give everything up just to be with you. He was the perfect groom everyone could think of. The perfect picture husband that everyone would want to have, and I was indeed the luckiest woman to have it all… during that time. People viewed us as the one who have such an ideal marriage. We were happy together while taking care of each other and not being afraid of showing everyone that we are married. Gael would make sure that everyone in the company knows that I am his wife and he is my husband. We were such a heavenly match as they say because we can easily match with one another’s pace but it was all just a play. And now, I am more than willing to walk away from him. “You know? Looking at you right now feels like I’m gonna puke my intestine out to the point I can’t even bear sleeping in the bed we once shared. I can’t even look at you straight because of how disgusted and embarrassed I am that I had to witness your sickening affair right in front of my eyes.” I pointed out, shaking my head, trying to shake away the image from that night. “Gabriela, it was just for one time! One mistake and now, you will leave?!” He reasoned out. “One time?” I repeated, looking at him in disbelief. “One time?! I watched you there, f*****g that woman as if you are so used to it, and you are telling that it was just for one time?!” “Gabriela, please let me expl—” “There is nothing else to explain, Gael!” I shouted at him. “I should have believed myself when I was suspecting you months ago that you have a woman. I should have believed in my instinct, but I didn’t! I didn’t because we have a f*****g child!” My knees suddenly feel weak. The thought of my daughter having to go through this… it hurts me. Her possible questions and even the idea that she had to look for her father once we separated, it hurts me. But, this is only for the two of us not to get hurt more. I pick up my baggage and turn my back from him, walking towards the door until he uses his one last card against me. “How about Kathleen?” I stop and look at him with disbelief, shoulder going up and down in anger. “Are you really going to let her have a broken family?” “Don’t even dare to bring up my daughter here!” I argued. “She’s my f*****g daughter as well, Gabriela!” He argued back, looking in anguish. “With you asking for a divorce means a broken family for my daughter. Are you really gonna let that happen just because of one mistake?” Without hesitation, I drop the baggage and strand towards him, giving him a slap as hard as I can. My anger keeps building up to the point that it is hard for me to control already. “You have guts to f*****g say that!” I shouted at him. “It was you who made that mistake. It was you who chose to make that happen! And now you are trying to use my daughter to cover up your f*****g mistake?! Are you f*****g insane?!” He massaged his red cheek and let out a sarcastic chuckle then looked back at me. “You make it sound like you didn’t make a mistake as well, Gabriela.” He shakes his head and smirks. “What the hell are you talking about?” I questioned back with brows furrowed. “You were with him last night.” Just before I could defend myself, a knock on the door caught our attention. I took a deep breath as he walked to open the door, only for a small figure of a person to show up and stand there. “Kathleen, dear.” I softly called in surprise. “Mommy, Daddy, are you fighting?” Her little voice said, her eyes gazing down to the luggage near the door. “Are you going somewhere Mommy?” Slowly, I could feel the tension lowering down between the heated room. The tense room since last night when we came home from the party has disappeared and only a feeling of guilt for the child in front of us is left. I tried my best to keep it in me, but the forming tears in my eyes kept betraying me that I had to look away. “No, dear, Mommy and Daddy are not fighting.” I glanced at Gael as he did the same before focusing back on our child with that gentle smile that he always puts on. “And also, Mommy is not leaving, right, Mom?” He turns his head to me, giving a signal, making me breath deeply. “Daddy’s right, baby. Because I am not the only one who is leaving, you are coming with me as well.” I revealed, not even minding Gael’s secret glares. “Where are we going, Mommy? And is Daddy coming?” She questions in her little voice. I walk towards her, and kneel on one knee to be the same height as my child before reaching for her hand. “No, baby, because Daddy has some business to deal with during the holiday so he can’t come with us to Mamu and Papu’s place. Will that be okay with you?” I carefully explained. She glanced at her father with hesitation in her eyes before it went back to me, changing it into something brighter. “Okay, Mommy!” A smile forms my lips in return despite feeling guilty. I gave Gael a look and signaled him to say something, which only made him sigh and nod in defeat. “I’m sorry, baby. Daddy had to attend some important business so I had no choice but to get there. But I promise you that I will bring home a big gift for you, my princess. Just tell daddy what you want, okay?” He said with reassuring words, our little one nodded in return. How deceiving he could be. “How about you go first to your room and start packing with nanny, baby?” I suggested as she nodded once again. “You go ahead first then Mommy will follow, okay?” She instantly left the room and returned to hers, leaving me and Gael again. I stand up and pick up my phone from the nightstand along with my laptop before giving him a look. “If you think that what just happened changed my mind, it didn’t. I will contact my lawyer and have the divorce papers prepared.” I firmly said. “You don’t mean that.” He argued. “You don’t know that.” I form a smirk then pass by him, stopping by the door and holding the doorknob. “I would appreciate it if you would sign it right away so I don’t need to keep acting like a blind woman who can’t see how terrible her husband really is.”
