Is this a Betrayal?

Nora’s POV:

It's been a month since that night. My heart still aches thinking about it but I pushed down the hurt and growed the anger, anger at myself and the man who left me after using me. If he was not going to accept me then he would have told me! But no he wants to have a taste of me and how it feels to f**k your mate.

My body shook with anger as I was pulling out the new dinner plates from the cupboard according to Luna’s orders. There was some sort of family gathering in the evening and Luna wants everything to be perfect and on time.

“ Nora! What are you thinking! Come, let's go and play video games.” Jackson was in the kitchen since morning trying to get on my nerves but I was giving him silent treatment. If he nags me for the next five minutes then I am going to punch his pretty nose.

“ I am busy, Jackson. Go and bother someone else.” I gritted out the words. It's not Jackson's fault, I shouldn't lash out at him. He was not the one who broke my heart and trust. He doesn't know what has happened, no one knows.

“ You don't have to be so harsh, Nora.” When my eyes landed on him, he had a little pout on his face.

I narrowed my eyes at him knowing he was just being a drama queen.

“ Okay! I am sorry but I am bored out of my mind and if I go out there then mom would make me go shopping with her and I don't have energy to follow her around the mall.” A giggle left my mouth as he rolled his eyes knowing I am remembering the incident when he came home with bags hanging off of his arms and he was all sweaty and he was on the verge of passing out as soon as I opened the door.

“ Don't need to laugh at me. It was only one time and that's why I am hiding here.” He said, taking a sip from his beer.

“ Yeah, yeah.” I dismissed him with the flick of my hand and cleaned all the plates and arranged them to let them dry.

“ I should tell Raquel to go with mom. He doesn't know the horrors of shopping with her.” Jackson grinned at his idea but he didn't realize that I froze in mid air as I was taking out a cup from the upper cupboard.

My wolf growled, she was baring her teeth and being restless. I hadn't gone for a run in a month. I was too hurt and confused to go back to the woods where I may still smell him and our scents mingled with each other.

I don't know why but hearing Jackson's brother's name irked me.

“ R..Raquel?” I asked, he had never been in the pack as he went abroad to study and get the Alpha training so I had never seen him other than the times I heard him when Jackson face- timed him.

“ Yeah! He came back from the Alpha training camp a month ago and he went back again somewhere and now he is back.” My heart was beating like crazy and I don't know what's happening.

“ Umm, I'll be back.” My body was shaking and I felt suffocated. My wolf was scratching inside my head demanding to let her out. I can't go on a run right now, it's too dangerous.

“ Excuse me, Have you seen….” I froze, my breath caught in my throat and my eyes wide as the voice registered in my head.

“No.”

“No.”

“No.” I chanted, My heart feeling like it's going to burst out and the bile rose up to my throat and if I don't move and leave then I'll throw up.

“ Nora!” I closed my eyes to calm myself down when Luna called my name. I can still feel his presence and his scent was overwhelming me and I don't want to face him. I'll break down in front of him and Luna.

Is he Raquel's friend? I have so many questions to ask him but first to come out of this awkward situation.

I turned around slowly, praying to the moon goddess to not let me break down and make a fool out of myself. My eyes didn't waver towards him and I bowed to Luna who stood there with a scowl on her face.

“ Did you take out the crockery I asked for?” I nodded my head, too caught up with the emotions flowing through me. I can feel his eyes on me and my wolf was whimpering and moaning like she was in pain.

“ Yes, Luna.” I answered.

“ Good! I want everything to be perfect for tonight's dinner. Some important guests were visiting and I didn't want them to talk badly about our hospitality.” She said,

“ Yes, Luna. I'll make sure everything will be according to our guests' taste.” I said, my eyes desperately wanted to see him one more time. When we met in the forest it was dark and due to our werewolf genes we can see clearly in the dark but I still need to see him in the light.

I want to see if he has the yearning in his eyes like mine.

I raised my head slowly to see the man who abandoned me alone in the woods. I want to see if he regrets it and when my eyes met his, my heart dropped to my feet at his indifference and empty eyes.

He was not the same man who was at that night. The man standing in front of me looks so cold and indifferent towards me. There was no recognition in his eyes.

“ Raquel! Where is Jackson?” Luna asked and the man who was my mate turned towards her, answering her.

“ Raquel?”

His name was Raquel? Raquel Ravenscroft? Elder son of our Alpha? Jackson's brother?

My head was spinning and tears blurred my eyes. I didn't stay to listen to what they were talking about and if they found Jackson in the kitchen.

I ran, I don't know where I am running but I don't want to stay there. My throat was closing in on me and I am going to die if I don't get out of there.

I locked myself in my room as soon as I reached our cottage. I don't know what I am feeling, heart break? Betrayal? Anger? I don't f*****g know but my heart was aching so damn much.
