Nora's POV: “ I love you Nora.” My heart stopped for a second. My eyes widened in shock as I looked at my best friend and our Alpha’s younger son. I haven't really met Raquel, Jackson’s big brother but I have heard about him. “W…what are you saying? Did you hit your head somewhere?” I started blurting out nonsense, not meeting his eyes. He had a serious expression on his face and his eyes were unreadable. “ Nope! I am serious and you are not funny.” He glared at me, his blue eyes darkening. “ Stop it, Jack! You are not funny. I have so much work in the kitchen and I don't want to start my morning with your silly jokes.” We have been friends since I met him in the pack house when my mama took me here with her. I was five years old and Jackson was seven years old and ever since we were inseparable. I tried to walk away from him as he sat outside the pack house and I needed to go inside to start the chores. Our little cottage was settled at the end of the pack and it's cozy and warm, filled with Mama’s citrus scent. “ If you leave without giving me an answer then I am going to jump off of the cliff.” He threatened, what the f**k is wrong with him! I thought he was joking with me but when I tried to face him his serious expression didn't change. I never gave him the impression that we were more than friends. He was more like a brother than a friend. “ What the f**k, Jackson! If you are playing with me then stop right there.” I growled, my wolf feels my anger too. She acknowledges him as her sibling and she was as confused as me. “ I am not playing, I am serious.” He turned around and started walking towards the cliff which was near our pack's border. “ Jackson! Wait!” I called out, but he was walking so quickly with his long legs. “ Wait! Jackson! I am going to get the Alpha if you don't stop right now.” I threatened, knowing he fears his father. Everyone in the pack fears Alpha Christopher. He was the ruthless and fearsome Alpha. “ It's your last chance to accept my love, Nora.” He said, still walking away. I am panting and sweat rolling down my back and wetting my shirt. “ f**k! Okay! I love you too, Jackson. Now, stop the f**k!” He came to a halt, his body shaking. My brows dipped in confusion as to why his body was shaking like he was crying? Jackson is crying? My wolf scoffed at that part because we have never seen him cry. I walked towards him and put my hand on his shoulder to turn him around. I don't know how to manage emotions or emotional people. I suck at consoling people. “ Jack……” a gasp left my mouth and my eyes widened as my words stuck in my throat. I straightened up as I glared at him. “ What the hell! Jackson!” I growled. He was laughing, cackling like a stinking hyena. He was pulling my leg and was pranking me. He was older than me but he has the brain of a five year old. My heart was in my throat when he started walking towards the cliff. So many negative thoughts swirled in my head. “ Oh my god! Look at your face!” He was holding his stomach and laughing, tears falling from the corners of his eyes. “ That was not at all funny, Jackson! Now, I am going to push you off of the cliff.” I pulled his ear, satisfied when he groaned in pain. “ I am sorry, Nora. So sorry.” “ I'll show you what a true prank was!” I started dragging him with his ear and he started apologizing and moaning in pain. “ What's going on here!” A feminine voice startled us. I released Jackson's ear and we both turned around to see our Luna standing there with narrowed eyes glaring at me. I don't know why but she never liked me. She always scolds me for every single thing and taunts me. “ Mom! Nora and I…” she cut him off in the middle of his sentence. “ How many times have I told you to stay away from Omegas! You are the son of an Alpha, behave like it. Stop messing with the maids.” Her words used to hurt so damn much but now the hurt was so dull because my heart got used to her insults and I don't care anymore. Jackson won't listen to her and always defends me. I had told him hundred times to not take my side in front of his mom but he was a stubborn tool, won't budge. “ Mom! Not again. I don't care about titles and Nora is my friend, you can't just insult her like that, for the hundredth time!” I can sense his anger and he was barely holding back. “ I'll Leave.” I bow to Luna before I leave the mother and son to sort it out. I don't have any friends other than Jackson and I talk with other omegas but they are not that close to me. I prepared breakfast for the Alpha’s family. Mama was sick the other day so I told her to rest up and come in late. “ Nora! Did you make scrambled eggs for Luna?” Mama asked as she entered the kitchen. She didn't need to take me in when she found me near the pack’s territory wrapped in a blanket. Her mate had rejected her and she was heartbroken and wanted to leave the pack but when she saw me, she took me in her arms without any hesitation and raised me as her own daughter. “ Yes, Mama. Did you have your breakfast?” I asked, putting away all the plates in the trays which need to be taken to the dining table. “ No, I will have it after the main table has cleared.” She is too strict to break any rule. “ Mama! You need to eat before you start working. I'll make you something.” I put some bread in the toaster to make a toast and break eggs in the pan. I put the bread and eggs on a plate and handed it to her. “ Nora! I can't eat.” Her face was scrunched up. “ You can. I am going out to do other chores. I'll check up on you.” I left the kitchen not turning around as she told me to stop. I did all the cleaning around the rooms and had my lunch and went back to the cottage. I took a shower and cozied up with a book under the sheets. I didn't know when I dozzed off but I woke up startled, sweat covering my body and a cold wind flowing through the room through the open window. My wolf feels restless as she wants to be out. Omegas are not allowed to shift however they want, they can't go on runs like other ranking wolves but my wolf was never submissive, she wants to be freed and shift into her wolf form. Forest was my second home, when mama and other pack members went to sleep I slowly slipped into the forest, shifting into my wolf and letting her take over my human form. I feel happy and at ease when I am in my wolf form. “ What is it?” I asked, as she started pacing, I could feel her desperation and restlessness. I feel everything which she feels and she feels everything I feel. “ I need to be out.” She growled, baring her teeth. My wolf’s coat was white with golden streaks and she looks bigger than the other omega wolves. I got up from the bed and walked out of the cottage before checking if Mama was back from the packhouse or not. It's way past midnight and everyone was already asleep. A cold breeze greeted me as soon as I put my foot outside and I ran towards the woods as a big grin took over my lips. I feel alive and happy when the smell of forest invades my nostrils. I shifted into my wolf as she took off, happily grinning. She covered half of the forest feeling the breeze flowing through her fur and when she felt like enough she took us to a small pond where she quenches her thirst and flops down on the ground for some time. Her ears perked up as she started sniffing the air. “ Who is it?” Her head snapped up. If someone finds me here in my wolf form at this point then I will be punished severely. I need to go back before I get caught. My wolf started running towards the Cliff as it's opposite to the way which will take us to the cottage. She was not listening to my command but her speed increased as she ignored me. She came to a stop at the cliff and she started whimpering. An amazing smell of coffee and rain assaulted my nose, my wolf was dancing happily as she was saying one word repeatedly. I have been waiting for this day for. So long and but I lost hope when I didn't find him anywhere, but right now he was sitting at the edge of the cliff, his back stiffened as he sensed our presence as we found him. I am nervous and excited, I was so desperately waiting for this moment. I shifted back into my human form, naked, I don't care about it right now. Finally I have been blessed by the moon goddess.
