LOGAN’S POV
Like a punch, the excitement I felt left my body. I was drained of all the energy I had and I staggered backward. I felt so stupid and unreasonable. I shouldn’t have believed them or trusted them so easily. Of course, I knew she was cunny but I believed my men would outsmart her. I believed they would he able to get her to me.
I guess I was wrong. I was so hurt because I had built my trust so much in them , only to be disappointed.
“Forgive us, my Lord. We did not mean to lie to you or disappoint you. We just wanted to please you. We had no idea it could turn out to be someone else. We are very sorry, my Lord.” The soldiers bowed.
I wished apologies could undo what they had caused but it was impossible. They had caused so much damage to me without knowing it.
