LOGAN’S POV
When I eventually returned home, Calista had finally been awake. Not only was she up but she had also finished her meal. Just like she had been anticipating my presence, she pulled me into a deep and tight hug.
“I have missed you.” She started, her voice, soft and calm. “I have missed you so much and for a moment, I thought you had left me alone. I thought you had left me to go somewhere that I do not know and you have decided to leave me all by myself.” She released her grip on me and looked me in the eyes.
