I didn’t kiss her this time and instead just smiled and walked out of the room with a smile etched to my face as I felt so relieved and light hearted that what I was doing was working. She seemed to finally be loosening up a little.
Even though it did not seem like we were making much progress, I was glad at what had happened. I returned to my room and this time, it crossed my mind to place a call to Jace once again. With a frown on my face, I dialed his number and he refused to pick the call.
