(XIAN's POV)
"You're up early," Nezon said, rubbing his eyes and yawning.
I looked at him.
He's really handsome when he just wakes up, especially without his glasses. With that messy hair and puffy eyes, he's really good-looking... but sorry, he's not my type.
He just woke up. We nodded at him, and he went to the bathroom.
We were sitting on the sofa, having woken up early, maybe around 3 AM. I was reading my favorite novel, "He's Into Her."
The others started coming down, all freshly awake. We secretly laughed because Adero was in Hello Kitty pajamas. He quickly ran upstairs.
They greeted us one by one and headed to the bathroom. Luiz sat beside me with his eyes closed, so I waved my hand in front of him. He fell asleep again, sitting next to me, leaning on the sofa with his arm over his forehead. I shook him.
"Hmm... I'm still sleepy... five more minutes," he said, turning to face me.
His face was so close to mine, so I moved a little away. That was close—I almost got kissed.
Why is it that they're all handsome but I feel nothing? Hasyt! I want to experience that thrilling feeling.
I closed my book and leaned against the sofa, facing him.
Why is it like that?
"Xian, you're going to melt him," Sharlene said.
I ignored her, adjusted my seat, and stared at his face.
"You seem to be thinking deeply," Crimson said.
I traced Luiz's nose. It's so well-shaped.
"Why is that? Luiz is handsome, but I don't feel anything," I said, tracing his eyebrows.
His face is smooth, and he's not super white, just normal. They're muscular and tall, only a bit taller than us.
"Don't wonder too much. Your heart is probably made of stone; it doesn't beat for guys... maybe you like girls," Crimson said.
I grimaced at his comment and touched Luiz's soft hair. It's so well-maintained.
"With Xian's beauty, only a girl could match up, but let's hope not... maybe it's because he hasn't come yet," Sharlene said.
I held Luiz's cheek and pinched it, making him groan. He adjusted his position and fell asleep again.
Such a heavy sleeper.
"Hey, I read in the wolves book, we're wolves too, right?" I said.
"What?" they both asked.
"Only female wolves have mates, and their mate is the guy they'll be with or marry... maybe we have that too," I said.
"Oh? Really?" Sharlene said.
"Actually, it's said that only females can see their mate and will look for them, but you'll know who your mate is when you turn 18," I added.
"I can't wait! Who could my mate be?" Crimson said.
I shrugged while watching Luiz sleep. He's like a baby. So peaceful. How I hope he'll be my mate... my ideal guy who can cook, and he knows how to.
"Luiz will melt," someone said. I looked at the speaker and then back at Luiz, who was still fast asleep.
"He should have melted by now if that's the case," I told Killian, who sat on the sofa beside me.
"You're up early," he said.
I just stared at Luiz.
"If looks could melt, he'd be melted already."
Tsk. I looked at Killian and then back at Luiz.
Damian sat beside Sharlene.
"Is he handsome?" Zian asked, sitting beside Crimson.
"Yes, he's handsome," I replied.
"Then you're attracted to Luiz," Alan said, heading to the kitchen.
"I'm just saying what I see, not because I find him handsome that I like him," I said.
"If that's the case, you don't like him? Why not?" Killian asked.
I traced Luiz's eyes and brushed away the hair covering them.
"I wish I did, but my heart doesn't," I said.
I could feel Luiz waking up. He opened his eyes, closed them again, then opened them.
"Morning," I said coldly, watching him.
He looked surprised but smiled again and stared at me.
"What a blessing, the first thing I see is a goddess," he said with a smile.
I just stared back. I still didn't feel anything. We just looked at each other, both leaning against the sofa, only a handspan apart.
"Oh no! You two are going to melt!" Adero said, but we ignored him.
"Hahaha! You're being ignored! You know love is blossoming here," Klein said.
"Don't interrupt, I'm looking forward to their love story," Pat said.
"Me too!" Bexzin said.
"Me three," Tiser said.
They all agreed, while we just stared at each other.
"I wonder if you have a boyfriend," Luiz said softly.
"I'm not interested," I replied. I brushed the hair away from his eyes again.
He smiled at what I did.
"I feel like you're my girlfriend," he said.
"You just feel that way, but in reality, I'm just a stranger who passed by and we accidentally met," I said.
"Don't you feel anything, like a bell ringing, your heart beating fast?" he asked.
I shook my head.
I brushed his hair away from his eyes again.
"That hair of yours is annoying," I said coldly.
I noticed his eyes seemed to sparkle, twinkling.
He laughed and tucked my hair behind my ear.
"By the way, I saw some--- whoa!! What is this? A staring contest? Or some chemistry developing?!!" Nezon said.
"Shhh! We're enjoying the scene! Expect a kiss or something later," Akiro said.
I shook my head at their thoughts.
"Hey Luiz! Aren't you going to cook?!" Killian said.
Luiz stood up at Killian's words.
"Oh right, I forgot because of the beautiful view! Hahaha! I'll go cook," he said and ran to the kitchen.
I adjusted my seat.
"Awwww," they all said in disappointment.
"Killian is such a killjoy," Pat said.
"Tss," Killian said.
I looked at Killian, who rolled his eyes.
Wow! He can roll his eyes better than me.
"By the way, what element users are you?" Milo asked.
"I don't know," I replied. It's better if they don't know about us.
"Huh? Why not? Such a waste, not even one? Uhmm, abilities?" Jake asked.
It's okay if they only know about abilities.
"I can teleport, Sharlene has speed, and Crimson has invisibility," I answered.
Crimson and Sharlene didn't complain, which was good.
"Wait, isn't this world all mixed up, are there princes and princesses?" Crimson asked.
"No, except for King Perseus's children," Alan said.
We nodded.
"But in the world you came from, the immortal world, we know there's a missing half-blooded god or goddess who is the child of King Dezeus and Goddess Ares, right?" Bexzin asked.
"That's what their story says," Sharlene said.
"They say it's a girl," we looked at Killian.
So it's a girl...
"Yup, they say this girl is the strongest because she has all the powers and abilities," Milo said.
"Hmmm, she'd be around your age if she's still alive," Jake said.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. If King Dezeus hadn't fallen in love with a goddess, maybe Goddess Ares would still be alive," Damian said.
"Their love was forbidden because gods or goddesses are not allowed to love someone who isn't also a god/goddess," Lucian said.
Forbidden love??
Luiz called us to eat, and it turned out that only Killian and his siblings would take us to Border II.
We were outside, waiting for the five of them. The women here were giving us dirty looks.
They screamed when Killian and his siblings came out.
They were wearing caps that said "Badboy."
They're also handsome.
They walked ahead of us while we followed behind.
My blue hair with black and red streaks was braided. Sharlene's red hair with various colored strands was loose, and her gold hair had yellow ends.
"Wow! They're so beautiful," I heard them whisper.
They were being cute, but when they looked at us, it was like they wanted to kill us.
Tsk. Insecure.
We passed by many people, and it turned out the five were popular.
Sometimes they would meet guys their age, do high-fives, and continue walking.
"Those young ladies are so beautiful, like goddesses," I heard an old man whisper.
"You're just as beautiful, my love," I heard him whisper back.
"Stop it, my love... maybe they're half-blooded goddesses," the old woman said.
My forehead wrinkled at the old man's words.
How could they think we're half-blooded goddesses?
"Shhh, my love! Don't let them hear you!" the old man cautioned.
"It's possible, my love... they look like Goddess A---"
We didn't hear the rest of what he said because we bumped into Killian and the others.
"Why?!" Sharlene said.
"Damn! I didn't hear what the old man said," Crimson whispered in frustration.
"Nothing," they said, continuing to walk.
We saw half-goat half-human, half-eagle half-human, and half-horse half-human beings.
"What are they?" Crimson asked.
"What do you call them?" Crimson asked quietly.
"They are called the Anemesis, half-human, half-animal," said Lucian.
"Ahhh!
"What do you call the people here?" I asked.
"We are called Firisian. In the Dark Kingdom, they are called Dark Firisian. In the Immortal World, they are called Lightanians and Evillanians," Alan replied.
We nodded.
We were surprised when a red carriage with four brown horses stopped in front of us.
Actually, there were two carriages.
"Get in," Zian said.
So, we got into the rear carriage.
They were in the front carriage.
The carriage started moving.
We're not flying, just to remind you.
It did sway a bit though.
We were surprised when our necklaces lit up.
"Good morning," the necklace spoke.
"It's me, the Spirit Goddess. I'm speaking to you because your third eye needs to be permanently opened. It's time for you to see what others cannot," she said.
"Huh? Why?" Sharlene asked.
"Just trust me, okay? Now close your eyes," the necklace said.
We closed our eyes.
We felt a strong energy enter our bodies, and I felt something open up.
"Open your eyes," the necklace said.
We opened our eyes and didn't notice anything different.
"You might feel like nothing has changed, but you're wrong. A lot has changed because your third eye is now permanently open. I just want to remind you that your eyes are different. They were already powerful even without the third eye being open, but now they are even stronger. Your eyes can see in the dark, see the invisible, see the true appearance of those who change their appearance, and gather information about anyone," she said.
Hmm, impressive!
The light from the necklace faded.
"So, we can really see ghosts now?" Crimson asked.
"I think so. Just avoid poltergeists," I said.
Poltergeists are ghosts that can harm people.
"Let's try it," Sharlene said.
We pulled back the curtain from the window.
Whoa! We were traveling through a forest.
All trees, no houses.
I also saw a sign.
"Ghost Valley," it said.
Looks like we are in Ghost Valley.
"We are in Ghost Valley, guys," Sharlene said.
We didn't see anything until ghosts started appearing among the trees.
Houses, clearly for ghosts, also appeared.
We saw ghost children passing through the carriage.
"Guys... there are Firisians!" shouted an old ghost woman.
They quickly approached us and stared.
We grabbed hold of each other tightly when the carriage wheel suddenly broke, so we got out.
Turns out Killian's carriage broke too.
"Damn! We're still far away," Alan said.
"Are you all okay?" Lucian asked.
"We're okay, what happened?" I asked.
"The carriage broke down. We have to stay here temporarily until it gets fixed," Damian said.
We nodded.
"We need to avoid the ghosts, right?" Crimson said.
"That's why they shouldn't know we can see them, right?" Sharlene said.
"It's probably better that way, but it's hard. They're everywhere we look," I said.
"This is tough," the three of us said simultaneously.
"I'll just go to the nearby river to get some water since our container is empty," Zian said.
We nodded, and he walked off to wherever the river was.
We sat on a large rock while the others watched the carriage being repaired.
"Wahhh! They're so beautiful... too bad they can't see us," I heard a ghost woman say.
We closed our eyes so we wouldn't see them.
's**t! I'm struggling to ignore this, Xian, these ghosts are so annoying.'
I opened my eyes when Crimson spoke to me in my mind.
I looked at him and then closed my eyes again.
No wonder.
The ghost children were poking his arm.
The ghosts' touch was cold.
The older ghosts pulled the children away.
"The handsome young man won't be coming back," said an old ghost.
My ears burned at the ghost's conversation.
"Right, maybe they didn't see the sign."
"Such a shame, that handsome young man will be a victim of the water ghosts."
"Just leave them be."
The three of us stood up and looked at each other.
"Killian, where's the river? Hurry!" I shouted.
"Just go straight and listen for the water," he shouted back.
We didn't waste any time and walked quickly in that direction.
"Hurry, we might not make it," Sharlene said.
"Can they hear us?"
We ignored the ghosts following us and whispering.
Maybe something had happened to Zian.
We spotted Zian.
We sighed in relief when we saw him washing his face while sitting by the water.
My eyes widened when I saw a black ghost behind Zian, about to kick him.
I teleported there and grabbed the black ghost by the neck, lifting it up.
Zian was surprised.
"s**t! I forgot we are in Ghost Valley," he said and moved away.
I tightened my grip on the ghost's neck.
