Chapter 8 The new comer

Ada seemed unaccustomed to this kind of polite scene, and her tone was a little blunt. Then, without waiting for other colleagues to greet her, she walked towards the extra desk.

Rose first began to check Ada from head to toe, and while Ada was heading to her place, Rose felt a strange feeling on her, as if she were angry that Ada was with Joseph in the same place, but soon she noticed what she was thinking, and she rebuked herself for that. Then she focused on her work, leaving the rest to continue their gossip about Ada Wright.

For the first time since the rumours started about Rose and Joseph, Rose feels upset that there is a third party with them, especially Ada, whom Rose did not like at all.

Rose began to feel disturbed by everyone's conversations around her about the drama going to start and that the real fun would begin as they saw Rose and Ada fighting over Joseph. Rose decided to leave the place for a moment to get coffee, so she ran out of the office quickly to bump into Joseph. She looked at him with annoyance but quickly softened her features when she saw him; she wanted to apologise to him, but she frowned and left him, so Joseph looked at her confused.

Joseph felt a familiar smell in the place, which he had not picked up for a while, so he looked at his phone to see if his girl friend texted him or not, then he sighed to go to his office with a calm face as possible.

In the office, where many were trying to get Ada's attention, or to be friends with her, or even to get a look from her, she did not pay any attention to anyone, but as soon as she saw Joseph enter the office, she immediately rose to greet him and said with a wide smile, "Joseph, hello; long time no see."

But Joseph just nodded to her and went to his desk, but since Ada had become accustomed to this behaviour from him, she did not care for his coldness and went directly to him, where she grabbed his hand and began to speak enthusiastically.

Those in the office opened their mouths in astonishment and began to search with their eyes for Rose, who had not yet returned, while the chatter spread again.

Everyone was amazed by Ada's presence in the place, given that she is from a chain of ethnic and famous families and is obscenely rich, but what everyone does not know is that Ada is the daughter of the Wright family Alpha, and she was raised with Joseph since her childhood. But Ada was one of the people I wanted to avoid because she was a werewolf like him. He also felt very uncomfortable with her being in the same place as him.

And while Ada was talking to Joseph and did not want to leave his hand, they both smelled smoke. Ada didn't care about that, but Joseph started looking around the place for Rose, but he didn't find her, and suddenly his ears caught her coughing, and suddenly the fire alarm went off in the place.

And while everyone started running out, Joseph ran in the direction from which the smell of smoke was coming, to find Rose in the spare kitchen at the company, holding a bottle of water in her hand and trying to spray it on something burning, so he went to her quickly and carried her and took her out, to meet the security on their way with a fire extinguisher.

After everything calmed down and the fire was extinguished, Joseph was with Rose in the garden, and with them was one of the supervisors, who was watching the video of the CCTV to see what was happening. The coffee machine was releasing sparks before Rose entered the kitchen, and she did not notice that until suddenly the machine caught fire. Rose tried to turn it off, but she could not, and after her supervisor made sure she was okay, he left with the security men after announcing to everyone that today would be a day off so that they would check all the electrical outlets in the company so that another such incident would not happen.

In the middle of the gathering, Ada was looking for Joseph until she found him, so she ran to him and then said, "Are you okay, Joe, I've been looking for you."

Rose was disgusted when she heard her tone change as soon as she spoke to Joseph, and she preferred to quietly leave them, but Joseph held her hand and said, "Wait, I'll drive you home."

Ada said, "Why do you have to?"

Rose quietly pulled her hand from Joseph's and said, "It's okay, I can go by myself."

But Joseph insisted, saying, "I told you I'll drive you."

Ada looked at her with fiery eyes, which annoyed Rose even more. She didn't know why she was upset in the first place, but Ada's presence was like a bad omen to her, so she looked at Joseph and said with a smile, "Never mind, my roommate is near here; she'll come by to pick me up."

Before Rose could finish, Emma called out her name and said, "Rose, my God, are you okay, Nothing happened to you, right?"

Rose grabbed her hand and began to pull her behind her, then said, "I'll tell you everything later, come on."

Rose was avoiding Joseph; she could not look him in the eye, while Emma was confused and did not understand anything, but Joseph kept looking at her until they both got into the car and left, and he did not take his eyes away from her except when Ada grabbed his face to make him turn to her, but he pushed her hand and left. As Ada was getting angry and about to go after him, Catherine appeared in front of her and said, "I know that look well; don't try to do whatever you're about to do."

Ada looked at her in disapproval and said, "Who are you?"

"Oh, never mind," Catherine said while smiling. "Just don't do that, you'll lose like I did."

Ada kept looking at her without understanding, and Catherine added, "But if you want to get rid of her, I seem to know how."

The next morning, when everyone was preparing to get back to work in the company, Rose stood in the corridor leading to the interior, holding her hand to her chest nervously, and every time she tried to muster her courage to enter, she hesitated and returned to face the wall.

She exhaled softly and then said to herself, "It's a simple thank you; no need for so much stress, right, haha."

As she stood quietly trying to cheer herself up, the supervisor came up behind her and said, "Thank God, Rose, you saved me."

Rose looked at him without understanding, and then he grabbed her hand and pulled her to Joseph's office, while Rose followed him with surprised eyes.

The supervisor entered Joseph's office with Rose behind him and then said directly to Joseph, ignoring Ada completely, "Joseph, Rose will be your partner in that interview that you will conduct for our new project. The CEO finally agreed to give us half an hour of her time, but she asked that the work team must be so quiet and don't ask personal questions, and since you're the only professional to do that, I haven't found a quiet person like Rose here who won't get involved in anything out of her business, so you have to be there, right at half past twelve, okay?"

Rose could not say anything; she was in complete shock. Joseph nodded quietly, but Ada showed signs of resentment as she said, "Why her, she's still a beginner, I can do a better job than her?"

The supervisor smiled at her and said, "That's exactly why she should go, because she won't do much."

Ada crossed her hand in front of her chest and snorted while looking at Joseph to object, but Joseph did not pay her any attention; rather, his gaze was straight at the hand of the supervisor, who was still holding Rose's hand and did not leave her; he even pulled her out of the room with him.

After Rose and the supervisor left the room, Rose tried to talk to him, but he stopped her, saying, "Rose, maybe this is your chance to be promoted to a better place. Isn't that what you said during the interview to enter the company? What happened with that spirit?"

Rose sighed. "Okay, I will do it."

The supervisor was about to leave, but he came back again and then said, "And one more thing, your friend is accepted."

Rose smiled broadly, completely forgetting her nervousness, and said with great happiness, "Really, she will be so happy when she know."

The supervisor said warningly, "Don't tell her that before the company announces it. okay"

Rose nodded, while the supervisor smiled at her and then left. Rose turned to gasp lightly and steeped back in surprise when she saw Joseph and his cold facial expression that gave her goosebumps.

He said directly, "We have to rehearse what we will do in the interview. I have not worked with you before, so I do not want any surprises."

Rose nodded and the he said, "Follow me."
