Chapter2:The bond thatbuiltus
Victoria's and Leila's friendship was seemlesss and quick. Leila had already been friends with Amelia before she met Victoria. It was in class, in the middle of a dull lecture where the professor’s words seemed to drift off into the ceiling. Leila pulled out her phone to use inorder not to fall asleep. She was sitting next to Victoria but not exactly next to her there was a sit in-between both of them and a classmate sat between them. He commented on one of the pictures Leila was trying to upload and made a harmless joke of it Leila responded with a good comeback and Victoria laughed at her comeback reply because it was really a great comeback. Leila smiles at Victoria and Victoria compliments the picture and unknowingly to Victoria that compliment had triggered something in Leila and it also drew her closer to Victoria. Immediately Leila asked for her phone number.
On Leila's birthday night, Victoria had sent a birthday message to Leila after seeing her birthday post. Later that night Victoria got a call from Leila. For the very first time, they had texted a few times but never called. Five hours passed like minutes. Leila talked endlessly, sharing stories of her childhood, her struggles with friends, her frustrations, the little victories no one else knew about. Victoria listened, laughed, occasionally gasped, and by the time she hung up, a seed of connection had been planted. That night, she felt she had found someone who understood the subtle edges of life in a way most didn’t.
In the following weeks, the bond grew, this time not just Victoria and Leila but also with Amelia. They cooked together in tiny dorm kitchens, sharing pots and laughter, doing laundry together, went for classes together, whispered secrets over ironing boards, and shared notes late into the night. Amelia was always there too, a quieter presence, she was abit uptight at first but later started to open up more. Soon, in campus hallways, it was impossible to see one without the others. They were inseparable. “If you see one,” students would joke, “you see the three.”
Leila always had stories about her dating adventure to tell the girls, Victoria and Amelia were virgins and had little experience in the dating world. So Amelia made her self the celebrity dating guide. During one of her "gist time" she had mentioned Daniel whom she claimed shows interest in her but she wasn't interested says "his not my type". Victoria and Amelia doesnt like Daniel but Victoria detest him more and never hide her feelings of Daniel. They always use it to joke whenever they spoke so Daniels name became a common name in their conversation but mostly as an object of joke. Leila mentioned how Daniel always cooks and bring it to her and Victoria thought it wierd because to Victoria he was doing too much.
Their friendship blossomed into beautiful sisterhood, they hid nothing from each other. Even when Leila had s*x with her boyfriend she would always tell the girls the full gist and they were always in awe of it. If anyone is having a talking stage, they are always aware of it. Everyone was involved in everyone's life. They hosted game night, invited friends over, attended other people's game night as well. Daniel was still Daniel doing what he does best and even the Victoria and Amelia had met Daniel at this point but it didn't change Victoria's perspective.
