EPISODE TWELVE

Don's POV

"How could you do this to me Dennis " I asked holding back the tears that threatened to fall.

" I don't seem to understand, you called me me here and you were sounding so urgent as if something happened. Please don't waste my time, I have...." I cut her short immediately

"To see your man right" I asked smirking and she was shocked.

"What are you talking about" she asked

" Don't pretend! Don't pretend,first it was removing our baby and now this..." I asked banging my fist on the wall.

" Are you kinda crazy..If you are, let me go get chains for you" I looked at her shockingly.

" Do you love me at all" I asked and she nodded.

" Of course I do, I love you so much" I began laughing with a voice that shows am hurting.

" Lies..You lie...Cause if you do, you won't lie to me,you won't abort our first child, you won't go out with another man, you won't decieve me, you won't....." She interrupted me immediately.

" That is enough, am doing this for a purpose. Don't make feel guilty here, don't me feel like a bad girl. I really don't want to do this, if you truly love me, be patient and fight for your woman but don't show up in front of him" she barked before storming out.oh yes I will call it bark cause she was just shouting.

I fell on the couch heavily...

" Is it a crime to love, maybe I just need to forget her but I don't just know why I can't, it's hard"....

Michael's POV

"So that was how the tortoise had a rough back"I concluded my story and Jadhiel smiled.

" The tortoise was very wicked to have eaten all the food meant for the birds and even the wine. That served him right" Jadhiel said as I stroked her hair.

We were both lying on the bed having nice time together.

" Am happy you were able to understand it. My sharp little princess" I commented and she pinched me on my chest.

"Ouch! That hurts...Guess what" I asked giggling

"What daddy.. I wanna hear" she said extending her ear making me Chuckle slightly.

" I will be resuming school tomorrow, finally daddy is back to his old self, I can now bath and feed you and do everything for you" I announced and she began jumping jubilating. I feel so contented, she was putting on an open back top and sport trousers,so cute.

" My daddy is back" she said hugging me tightly and i reciprocated it feeling like I shouldn't pull off, how I wish Olivia was here. I remember Dennis and smiled, I would soon surprise her, she would be mine soon.

" Dad...Hope Aunty Dennis would be going back, I don't like her for any reason" Jadhiel said pouting and I sighed .

" Yeah but she would be coming to check on me, I mean us"

" But Dad....Do you like her" Jadhiel said staring at my eyeballs and my heart skipped, I never knew when I smiled.

" Yeah I do , Very much" omg! Did I just say that, I covered my face and Jadhiel hit me so hard with a pillow.

" I don't like her, I want the other lady I met at the complex, she acted like she knew me, probably she knows me" Jadhiel said and I looked at her surprisingly.

" Just forget about that unknown lady, we don't know her, she might be kinda a kidnapper" I said trying to convince her.

" But ..Okay if you say so. How about we do something crazy daddy" Jadhiel said jumping out of the bed.

" What particularly" I asked as she tried tiptoeing.

" Am coming" she said whispering her placing her fingers on her lips. She then walked quietly out if the room, what's she up to?.

She came back few minutes later with a make-up box.

"Jadhiel...What are you doing with aunty Natalie's make-up box" I asked and she giggled.

" I stole it, I wanna do some magic on your face" she said dragging me to the mirror side.

" Let's start with this" she said bringing out a mascara, she began drawing marks on my face, quite funny. This girl can be so dramatic ,she was still busy transforming my face when Natalie barged in.

" I knew it, so you sneaked to my room and stole my make-up box huh! You're a dead meat" Natalie said jokingly holding a pestle and began running after Jadhiel.

" Catch me if you can" Jadhiel screamed out running around the room and somersaulting, I watched with keen interest laughing so hard.

" Upcoming kung fu mistress" Jadhiel said giggling before running into the toilet and locking it up.Natalie sighed ,

"You have a strong head as a daughter and Micheal,you don't know how horrible you look" Natalie commented laughing so hard before closing the door behind her.

" Is she still there" Jadhiel wisphered from the toilet

" No, she isn't here" I wisphered and we began laughing, she soon came out with a bowl of water soaked with nice cold water.

She used it to clean my face neatly,such a cute thing....

" Dad... Can I ask you a question" she asked her face turning pale.

" What little princess" I asked softly carrying her on my laps.

" Dad... Promise me you won't lie to me" she asked staring at me eyeball to eyeball and I nodded.

" Where is my mother" I was shocked taken so much by her outburst, what am I gonna tell her.

"Dad, you can't keep lying to me, Tell me the exact truth,i really wants to see her. My friends mocks me school cause i don't know or haven't seen my mum . Dad, please don't lie to me" she said and i gulped so hard ,I must tell her the truth but how's she gonna understand it?.Em.. Jadhiel, your mum didn't travel, am sorry for lying to you,your mum left us" I said and she blinked her eyes in a funny way.

" Mum..Left us,why !,why did she leave us, had it been she was here. Aunty Dennis won't have the guts to come near you" she voiced out feeling so hurt and I was washed with guilty.

"She left cause I asked her to kill you and ...She spared your life" I said and Jadhiel looked at me filled with shock.

She came down from my body and kept going back little by little.

"Dad..You...I mean...Oh my God" she screamed running out.

I hit the table so hard beside my bed as past memories flew back to my brain, I missed her like hell. She was my worst distraction,my redeeming blues. She can't seem to wipe away from my memory but I hurt her badly, I was so stupid, so so stupid, I ....

I hit the wall to ease my pain and suddenly began crying, I really miss her so much . Who knows either she is with another man, the thought of her being with another man was killing me.

I stood up and went to the dinning, I went to the bar where I kept all sort of drinks most especially for visitors, I took one out and gulped it down my throat, it was hundred percent alcohol.

"Michael...Are you crazy" I heard Natalie asked as she came down the stairs.

"OMG...He is even drinking" she snatched the bottle from my hands.

" Why are you disturbing me, just allow me to drown my past away" I screamed at her and she flinched.

" Michael...Are you okay, what sort of immature words did you tell Jadhiel. Right now,that little girl is soaking the bed with tears.how could you tell her that you wanted to kill her. Are you sane" Natalie shouted and I looked at her akwardly.

"Just shut the crap, when you are not in your right senses you keep blabbing like parrot that has been set loose after three days" I thundered at her and she smirked.

"That's enough, you can't keep shutting me up like a baby. Infact,suit yourself" she said and went upstairs angrily.

I raked my hair confusingly...

"What are you doing Micheal" My inner mind yelled.

I rushed upstairs, probably she is in Natalie's room and I was correct,the door was left ajar and I could hear sobs of my little princess, I so much hate myself right now.

"Daddy loves you so much okay, he didn't mean anything he said" I heard Natalie say trying to console Jadhiel.

I walked in and hugged Jadhiel from her back sniffing her body.

" Am sorry little princess,then I was naive and stupid. Daddy loves you more than you do and won't do anything to hurt you" I said and she stared at me.

Her hair was scattered all over her face,I used my little finger to push it off.

" I promise to protect you till the last day, till the last drop of my blood and you will always be my priority" I said and kissed her on her forehead before Hugging her so tight.

The next day~~~~

I looked at my self once again the mirror and adjusted my tie,after so many months of being absent from work.

" Dad..You look so cute and you will always look handsome always" Jadhiel said combing her hair,I smiled at her and bent low to balance her height with mine.

" And your are looking so cute my little princess"I said and packed her silky hair in a messy bun style. She was looking so beautiful like seriously, I never knew I have a priceless, precious and rare gem.

My phone rang and I picked it up from the table, it was an unknown number ,I tapped the answer botton.

Me: hello, who is on line

Amber: it's me amber

Me: (shocked) what happened, I thought you....

Amber:yes I was kidn*pped but I have been released although with injuries.

Me:: oh , so sorry about that, so where are you now

Amber ;just got discharged from hospital yesterday but on my way to work now.

Me: why don't you stay at home for a while and involve the police about what happened.

Amber : are you really saying this, like you care about me, you Don't know how happy I am.

Me .: You're sick in the brain, you haven't still changed with that clingy character of yours.

Amber:you are mine Micheal, I love......

Me : you are now even worst, I wished you never came back, huh!

(Cuts call)

(Call ends)

I threw the phone angrily, I don't like that lady for anything,I so much despise her ,so desperate. I remembered Dennis and smiled,I have a surprise for her.

" Dad... Your are smiling, did you win lotto" Jadhiel asked giggling.

"Never mind baby girl,now let's go have breakfast" I ordered carrying her in my arms while I carried my briefcase in my left hands.

We met Natalie busy arranging the dining for breakfast already, she was smiling so sweetly.

" Good morning bro" she greeted filling the tea cups with tea as we took our seats.

"Morning, this one you're smiling as if.....Please can you share the reason with me" I asked and she hit my arms playfully.

"Just guess"

"It doesn't pass you won just a bottle of vodka for talking too much" Jadhiel said while sipping her tea

"Omg, I will kill you one day....Back to you bro, I never knew you are good gossiper,poke nosing" Natalie said and I laughed so hard.

"I don't blame you...Am dying to hear it"

"Fine! I was among the 3rd best writers in the world, my dreams are finally coming true" she screamed on top of her voice jumping.

"Omg! Am so happy for you sis, congrats dear. I know our parents will be happy in their grave to see their children prosper" I said and swallowed so hard, Natalie face soon change .

",May their gentle soul rest in perfect peace....Anyways, the competition still goes on as we are all expecting the overall who will win $100,000.00.

"WOW ❤, my wishes will always be with you kid sis" I said and kissed her on her forehead.

"Amen, so it's Time to leave for school Jadhiel so the house can be big enough for me" Natalie Joked helping her with her lunchbox and school bag.

"I will come back soon Aunty Natalie and we will start world war lll " Jadhiel joked somersaulting, it was easy for her as she was putting on her sports trousers and top, today was Wednesday.

"I don't know where you learnt that but you have to stop doing that" I warned as I placed her gently in the car and placed her lunch and school bag beside her.

"Take care bro and strong head" Natalie said blowing kisses at me and making funny faces at Jadhiel.

*At office***

"You're welcome back to work Micheal, everyone missed you,the secretary is back, all thanks she is alive so everything is back to normal" My boss explained as we sat opposite each other in his office .

"Yeah"

"Take this, i took it away from your office because it's not safe as you were not around, please guide it with care" My boss warned handling me the documents that contains everything about this company.

"And also, Micheal, your are my most trusted worker here. I trust you so much and also love you so much. I will be traveling outside the states for a very long period of time, one of my kids is having a deadly liver disease so I have to go stay with them. Their mother died since birth so since then, they had been staying with their nanny. I have to go and stay with them fully and therefore, am handling every document and properties file I have New York to your care. I want you to keep it safely, please I beg you, I also wants this company to stand in my absence. You're now the new C.E.O and will be handling everything to you so you have two functions now, manager and C.E.O. your new P.A is Gerald. He is always at your service okay. Will you do this for me" I was shocked at the same time surprised. I hugged him suddenly..

"I promise,I will " I said and he smiled.

" Don't break your promise, please Inform all other workers that there will be a meeting by 9:00am I.e this morning. And mind you, I will take a night flight so please take care of everything....
