Chapter 9

920 Words
Just a tip, never go on a cross country road trip with two incredibly annoying males. EVER.  To put it plainly, so far the trip sucked. Bad. They were both telling me what to do, how to do it, and when.  I didn't listen, which is probably why they wouldn't shut the hell up.  "Watch that truck." I was trying to weave in and out of the lanes on the highway, and I was accomplishing it so far. Just so you know, nothing can be one hell of a ride when you have two people in your car that want you to drive like a grandma.  "Jesus Christ," bellowed a voice from the backseat.  "What now? Did I forget the correct hand signals that no one uses again? God Forbid." Listening to their voices was torture. Absolutely horrible. No, dreadful. Intolerable. Whatever words could be used to describe how hard it was not to rip their throats out with my teeth, and throw them out of the car. Better yet, make them do it to each other. I wanted to cry. I was literally afraid my eyes would started pooling because of my not killing them.  It was another hour till arrival, and honestly, I couldn't wait to see my family again. I also couldn't wait for Harper to verbally slaughter my travel buddies.  "Hey, dumbass." They both looked up, "The one sitting next to me. Give me your phone." He slowly did, "You know, it's not safe or within the law to be on the phone and  drive." I looked at him and raised an eyebrow, "Does it really look like I give a s**t?" "No, not really." "It doesn't really matter. Besides, we all could survive a car crash anyway." Time passed quickly as I drove, listening to the loud snores of the two males. We were about five minutes out when I tried to wake them up, I even burned off Seth's eyebrows. It didn't work. So I smacked both of them across the heads, "WAKE THE HELL UP!" They groaned, "Why did you do that?" "We'll be there in five." "Mmk," was the only response that I got so I slapped them again. We had arrived, "We're here dipshits." "Whatever." That was Seth. "Wait. Do you smell that?" No, no, I don't. "I think you're delusional." "I'm not I swear." "Do you want to go inside?" "Hells yeah." Weird. Bipolar much? We walked into the building. Seth was still acting weird. "We can go to my apartment. You two won't be allowed to stay long though." "Why not?" "Because if my brother sees me walking in with you, his brain will jump to conclusions, and it is very likely he will kill you." Seth chuckled nervously, "What do we have to be afraid of? It's just scary ninja b***h's brother." I laughed, but Liam growled. So, now, he decides to be protective. We got to the 11th floor. I unlocked my apartment, and proceeded to be tackled to the floor. Surprise, it was Harper. She looked horrible, and I smiled. A smile that soon faded as she slapped me. "You b***h! So, your brother comes, and you decided to leave for a f*****g week? What the hell is wrong with you? He could've been an ax murderer!" I blinked, "I was gone a week?" She stood up, confused, "You didn't know?" I didn't. I must've been blacked out longer than I thought. As far as I knew, I had been gone three days tops. I shook my head.  "Luca! She's back!" He ran in, "Jesus! Sunny, you can't just leave like that." I hugged him and kissed his cheek, "I've missed you." Liam growled. "And who are they?" He stepped back to hold Harper's hand. "Long story." I froze when I heard a growl behind me. "Get your hand off my mate." What. The. Actual. f**k. Liv walked in just in time for the show. Seth ran to Harper. "You're my mate." He kissed her, only to be pushed off. "Dude, what the hell?" Luca began to move in front of her, obviously pissed. "You're my mate." He went to kiss her again, and she moved. "So, you've said, but I don't know what that means, and I don't know you, so, kindly f**k off." "But-," I walked in front of her, blocking Seth's view.  "Back off." "No, she's mine." He got into a fighting stance. I almost laughed, "She doesn't belong to you. And do you really think you could stand a chance fighting me?" "No, but I can try." Gotta give it to him, he must really want to get laid. But he was pissing me off. My eyes flared red, a sign of tapping into my powers, "If you insist." The next five minutes consisted of him being knocked on his ass over and over again. "Are you done? You're embarrassing yourself." "I can do this all day." I inwardly groaned. How dare he use Captain America against me? Luca asked for a turn, and in exchange I got a lovely show, lots of blood involved. He must really like Harper. I ship so hard. She needs someone like him. She needs stability, someone dependable. And he deserves her. They're perfect. My phone rang, and I went to the other room to answer it. "Hey, Kaleb, you got something for me?" "Well, not exactly-" Luca walked in, "Hey, Lex. I need to show you something." "Hey, Kaleb, I have to call you back." "Okay. You all right?" "I think so. Talk later." I hung up and walked toward Luca, "What's up?" I was kinda worried. He handed me something wrapped in cloth. It was a silver, jagged dagger. "This is it. Kaleb came through. It's what we've been looking for. This is the key to killing Damien." He was smiling, and so was I. Finally something was looking up.
