Chapter 26: Confrontation at the Pack House (Elara's POV) "Then why am I hearing otherwise from multiple sources?" Lucian demanded, an edge of something dangerous in his voice. "I'm about to find out," I replied, my hand turning the doorknob at last. But before I could push the door open, my phone went silent. Lucian had hung up. I stared at the screen for a moment, bewildered by his abrupt disconnect. What was that about? Why call just to hang up? I shoved my phone into my pocket, heart pounding. I needed to focus on the immediate threat – Damon and his family waiting inside. Before I could knock, the front door swung open on its own. Damon stood there, his smile too wide, too eager. My stomach churned at the sight of him. "There you are!" he exclaimed, reaching for my bag.
