The Room - Chapter 32 - Awake for 26 1/2 hours

1193 Words

It is strange to hear all the chatter from the other citizens. I guess they must be used to the noise, having had a voice in their head for their whole lives. Liam and I are struggling to concentrate though. The noise is sudden and strange after the relative silence of our lives before this. The silence of the attics is a welcome relief, and now that we have more than just the two teams, Liam and I can both go up into the attics and have someone else catch the items that we pass down. House after house, we visit, we climb up into the attic, we pass the items down, and we move to the next house. It is getting oddly repetitive.  I find it strange to think that all of these things we are bringing down were actually hidden up here by Mr Turner, alone. He hid them just as a worse-case scenario
