Towards the end of the day, the steady stream of people starts to cease. The last of the population to come out of the Dome are Liam's parents, my parents, John, Scarlett, and Mr Turner. I can see the keys in Mr Turner's hand, and that means that everyone is now out of the Dome. The door has been locked behind us, so there is no going back. I just hope we got everything out that we need. Liam pulls me aside, and I realise that I have been staring down the now empty corridor. He has one hand behind his back, like he is hiding something from me. "Close your eyes, Gracie. I have a surprise for you." I close my eyes, a smile threatening to split my face.
