6 Chapter Six Marina The entire house is dark, but warm, and smells like it’s been inhabited recently. Faint whiffs of garlic bread and steak from the kitchen. Amaretto from the library. And everywhere, the faint smell of spicy cologne. I’m careful. I do everything right that I can possibly think of. Checking my corners. Moving carefully and quietly through the building, checking every room in case he’s sleeping in there ... or somehow waiting for me. Where are you, you son of a b***h?
