ALEXIS' POV
Lyra stiffened the moment she heard Sergei's question. My heart caught in my chest as I looked at her anxiously, awaiting her reaction.
“Getting back together?“ She asked as if she couldn't believe her ears.
“That's what I said.“ A part of me wanted to stop Sergei from being so daring, but I also wanted to see her reaction to it.
“That's just ridiculous.“ She laughed easily, without any form of hatred or malice. Her being malicious about it would prove that she still cared enough to be hurt by my past actions, but she was completely at ease.
“Ridiculous?“ I managed to contribute.
“Yes.“ She turned to me. “Why would he ever think that we would get back together if we were never together?“
