Stay here? Surely he wasn't suggesting that I live here forever?
“Don't be ridiculous.“ I snorted. “Why would you want me to stay here?“
“Well, for starters, you have nowhere to stay. You're not planning on going back to Blood Moon, are you?“
“Of course not, but…”
“Think about it.“
“There's nothing to think about, Alexis. I'm going to leave the morning after the party. I have no intention of staying here and getting my life mixed up with yours.“
He looked like I had physically slapped him in the face with my words. He didn't relent, though, and I could feel the beginnings of a headache starting to form.
