CHAPTER TEN; HEARTBROKEN

777 Words
Alex returned home from the Maldives, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. She spent the rest of her holidays relaxing with her family and enjoying quality time with them. Her parents noticed the change in her demeanor and asked about her trip. "Alex, dear, you seem more relaxed and happy. What was your experience like in the Maldives?" Alex shared stories about her adventures, the people she met, and the lessons she learned. Her parents listened intently, smiling at her enthusiasm. However, they also noticed the tension between Alex and Stacy. "Alex, we've noticed you and Stacy haven't been hanging out as much lately. Is everything okay between you two?" Alex sighed, "Mom, Dad, it's complicated. We've been growing apart, and we need some space. But I'm hoping we can work things out when we get back to uni." Her parents nodded understandingly. "We're here for you, sweetie. Whatever you need, we're here to support you." As the holidays drew to a close, Alex felt a sense of determination and renewal. She was ready to tackle the new semester with a fresh perspective and a positive attitude. When she returned to uni, Alex threw herself into her studies and extracurricular activities. However, the tension between her and Stacy remained. They exchanged polite conversations, but the underlying issues were still unresolved. Meanwhile, Max had been thinking about Stacy, and he decided to ask her out. "Hey Stacy, want to grab coffee with me?" he asked, his heart racing slightly. Stacy smiled, "Sure, Max. I'd love to." As they sipped their coffee, Max and Stacy talked about everything from how they met to, to school life, hobbies and so on. I have something important to tell you... Sure go on, I'm all ears.. I really like you alot and I know you are aware of it. I would like us to become more than friends, I want us to take our relationship to the next level. What are your thoughts on it..? Max, I can totally understand how you feel and I feel the same way too but I'm scared, I have known Alex for a long time I know how possessive she is, I remember when we were in high school and she liked this certain guy but he didn't reciprocate her feelings. Do you know what Alex did.? She got the girl he liked expelled, she had framed her of exam malpractice and she got expelled. She then had the guy to herself. Wow, was all Max could say, so she's this vicious.. No she's very nice and sweet but extremely possessive She can do crazy things when she doesn't get what she wants. Stacy pls, I promise to not let her get between us. Hmm if you say so, Are you serious ..? Max asked with smiles all over his face. Do I look like I'm joking hmm.? Not that but hmm Thank you so much babe, you can't imagine how happy I am .... That day marked the start of their relationship but also their doom. The semester was off to a new start for the two love birds but the tension between Alex and Stacy, and Alex's feelings for Max, were far from resolved. Max and Stacy's relationship blossomed, and they spent more time together. They went on romantic dates, studied together, and explored the campus. However, Alex's feelings of jealousy and resentment grew. She couldn't bear the thought of Max and Stacy together. She started to plot against them, trying to create misunderstandings and tension in their relationship. One day, Alex "accidentally" sent a text message meant for Max to Stacy's phone. The message was a harmless joke, but Stacy misinterpreted it and thought Max was flirting with someone else. Stacy confronted Max, who was confused and tried to explain the situation. But Alex's meddling had already created tension, and their conversation ended in an argument. Max was frustrated and hurt by the misunderstanding. He didn't understand why Stacy would doubt him so easily. Stacy, on the other hand, felt insecure and unsure about Max's intentions. She wondered if she had misread the situation entirely. As the days went by, Alex continued to manipulate situations, making it seem like Max and Stacy were growing apart. She would "accidentally" bump into Max and have conversations that made Stacy feel left out. Stacy started to feel like Max was losing interest in her, and Max couldn't understand why Stacy was pulling away. The tension between Max and Stacy grew, and their relationship was put to the test. Would they be able to overcome their misunderstandings and work through their issues, or would Alex's plotting tear them apart?
