The contract
The hospital room smelled like disinfectant and fear.
Amina clutched the contract in her trembling hands. 50,000,000.
For 100 days.
"Sign it," the lawyer said coldly, pushing the papers across the metal table. "Mr. Carter needs a wife for his grandfather's sake. You need money for your mother's surgery. It's a simple business arrangement."
Simple.
Right.
Except the man waiting in the black car outside was Damian Carter.
Lagos' coldest, richest, most ruthless CEO. The man on every magazine cover. The man who fired 200 people with one email.
And he looked at her like she was a spreadsheet.
Nothing more.
Amina thought of her mother in the ICU upstairs. The bills piling up. The doctors saying "we need payment today or we stop treatment."
Her pride didn't matter anymore.
With shaking fingers, Amina signed her name at the bottom of the page.
Amina Yusuf.
Fake wife for 100 days.
Rule 1: Follow the contract.
Rule 2: Act in love in public.
Rule 3: Don't fall for him.
"Congratulations, Mrs. Carter," the lawyer said.
Amina almost laughed. Mrs. Carter.
She had no idea that on Day 1, Damian Carter would already be breaking rule #2.
And that by Day 3, she would be breaking rule #3.
