Selene didn't need her empathy to feel Endy following her. She could feel his eyes on the back of her head as she made her way to Romeo.
She found him in the kitchen cutting up some vegetables all lost in thoughts. The pleasant sound of Sinatra's voice was coming out of the speakers. Rome's knife skills were superb, he wasn't swaying to the music but his hands were doing all the dancing. He felt their presence in the kitchen and greeted them with a cryptic smile and said "Oh, you two kids hungry?"
His deduction of Endy's true identity meant that s**t was about to hit the fan and he found himself in the kitchen where all the sharp and pointy things were. Kitchen was the best place for the following conversations as it provided strategical advantages and Romeo was all about that. He looked at Selene's face to try to gauge her reactions, if she suspected something about Endy's identity and then he noticed something weird. He dropped the knife to the cutting board and went to her.
"Your eyes..." was all he managed to utter.
"Yeah, I know. Something happened. I... we need you to tell us if you know anything.", Selene answered feeling awkward.
"What's with her eyes?" Endy asked feeling a bit anxious but trying not to show it.
Selene and I both ignored him as there was something else strange. I didn't feel any desire for her, as if her powers were negated by something. Or someone.
"Oh boy... You two need to sit down and listen to me very carefully." Romeo said and waited for them to comply. It was kinda funny seeing those two scrambling to hop on bar stools like school children. Selene was wide-eyed and he could feel for her discomfort. It wasn't easy to go from all-powerful to powerless in a blink of an eye.
Endy had his perpetually confused look, he looked like that ever since he stumbled in his bar.

"Ok, so here's the story." Rome said as he continued chopping, "This one", he said pointing to Selene, "is the child from the prophecy given by the Moirae themselves. When she was about to pop from Hera's belly, the three ladies of fate crashed her baby shower and announced that she will hold the destiny of all in her tiny hands. This news was received with mixed emotions. Some rejoiced and some... well, some hated the idea. The god of war, Ares, for example was the one most opposed to the idea."
Romeo eyed Endy carefully but couldn't read anything from his expression. Ok, so far so good, Romeo thought to himself as he continued to make dinner.
"But you see, I think the Fates never got to finish the prophecy. They were interrupted by Ares and the rest."
Selene was shocked. Her father never told her that part.
"What do you mean? My father never mentioned that the prophecy was incomplete. Neither did my mother!"
"I don't think they noticed, Sel. They had other problems at the time. Anyway, Ares made a big deal out of it. I think he was near to attack then and there but didn't out of fear of Zeus and maybe love for Hera... I don't know if he really loved anyone to be frank. Lot of abandonment issues... adopted child and all."
"What do you mean?", Selene interrupted again, "what adopted child?"
"Hera adopted him, he's not her biological son. He's from Thrace. You are their only biological child."
Selene could feel how stupid her face looked like as she blinked slowly looking at Romeo.
"That is not possible... My parents never told me that."
"Zeus and Hera were infamous for their toxic relationship. She didn't trust him and she loved him, he loved her but loved Pantheon and Greece just as much... It's all so complicated and crazy. I don't think many people know that about them. She was all about family and she never treated any of her children differently. Not even Zeus's illegitimate children."
"Oh.", was all Selene could say.
"Let me get back to my story. Ares made a mess out of that baby shower and Zeus kicked him out from the party but it didn't end there. The Olympians have many enemies but the biggest threat are the Titans. The Titans found out about the prophecy and decided to claim Selene as if she belonged to them. She was a gift from Nyx so they thought they had a claim. They plotted to take her and Ares decided to betray his Pantheon and to join the Titans. He was determined to kick Selene out of the equation as he saw her as a threat to everyone so he sneak attacked Hera and took Selene out."
"Took her out? Gutted his mother?", now Endy interrupted confused look no longer visible on his face. The cold fury was rolling of of him in waves. Selene put her hand on top of his clenched fist and he started to calm down. Romeo looked at their connected hands and frowned. He could feel some power rising in Endy but nothing out of the ordinary. What was alarming was the effect these two had on each other. She comforted him instinctively and he calmed down just by her touch. The part of the story he reacted to was also problematic.
"He didn't kill her... He just hurt her really bad and took Selene. Luckily, Zeus was on time to save them both."
Endy was still furious. His mind was trying to tell him something, like a memory was trying to emerge but he was too angry to think about that. Selene's touch was calming him down. There was some pleasure in weakness that her touch produced. He forced himself to focus on Romeo.
"Gods made a plan to transfer a bit of their power to Selene so no one could hurt her and by doing that fulfilled the prophecy. She had enough power to make or break a Pantheon."
Endy looked at Selene in awe. She was so tiny yet so powerful it was scary. She smiled shyly at him.
Romeo rolled his eyes at them and continued, "Because some of the Olympian twelve were missing because of betrayal and all that there was an unexpected help. Two of the Titans helped. Theia, the Titaness of sight had a vision of the future and decided to help. She tried to persuade the rest of the Titans not to escalate things but they didn't listen. The only one who joined her was her son Helios, the god of sun. She gave a part of her own powers to Selene and Helios helped holding the rest of his brethren of while they did that."
Endy was fully focused on the story.
"But in the series of unfortunate events, Theia died that day. She was brutally killed and seeing that, Helios lost control of his powers. He was a threat to the whole world so everyone joined forces and somehow managed to stop him. Ares broke into the cave where ritual was held and Zeus impaled him on his lightning and flung him of Olimpys. Helios was also blasted of Olympus by Hades' fire balls and everything just stopped.", Romeo's voice quieted down and he looked at the two in front of him. He went to grab some plates and felt two pairs of eyes on him.
He was still quiet as he plated the food and gave them a plate each.
Selene and Endy were not interested in his cooking.
"So... that's it?", Selene asked.
"The story is quite interesting and terrible but how is it connected to us?", Endy added motioning with his hand between Selene and him.
"Well, the two gods that were kicked off of Olympus are presumed dead. But. Their body's were never found. I have a strong suspicion that you are one of the two." Romeo said looking at Endy.
Endy was dumbfounded and sat silently. Selene looked at him wide-eyed and she slipped her hand away from him. His eyes fell on her and the look of uncertainty and fear he saw there made him feel sick.
"Selene, I..." he started but she just raised her palm at him.
"No, don't say anything. The darkness I felt in your mind can only mean you are Ares." she whispered.
"No! I would never try to hurt you, you have to...", Endy tried frantically to defend himself.
"Actually, I'm more leaning to the idea he's Helios." , Romeo interjected.
"Big difference!" Selene yelled, "Either he's my psychotic half-brother who tried to kill me or he's a deranged Titan who tried to kill me because his mother died while giving me power!"
She jumped of the barstool and ran out of kitchen. Endy was still in a daze so he didn't react in time to her storming out and Romeo just shook his head no as he started to climb down his barstool.
"Where do we go from here?", Endy asked sounding a bit defeated.
"First we find out who you really are and get your memory back and then we'll see."
"I don't want to get my memory back. Either way I'm screwed. As she said, either I'm a psycho or I got my mother killed." Endy said looking at the counter.
"Neither of those two got their mothers killed. And if you are Ares... well, we can work on that. You can repent, ask for forgiveness..." Romeo's voice trailed off not really convincing anyone.
"The fastest way to comfirm who you are is to summon Zeus and he can clear the air in no time.", Romeo said, "But the downside to that is that he could kill you on the spot. I have to think of the way to find your true identity without killing you in the process."
"This would be so much easier if you could use your powers and then we would know for sure."
"Do you feel sudden urges to maim and kill, to bathe in the blood of your enemies on the battlefield?" Romeo suddenly asked.
Endy just blinked at him surprised.
"N-No..."
"Oh well, it was worth a shot."
"There is one more possibility."
"What to you mean? I'm willing to try anything that won't get me killed by Zeus in an instant."
"I could try to jog your memory tonight when you fall asleep." Romeo said smiling to the confused Endy.
"I'm an Oneroi. A dark one, but hey... beggars can't be choosers."
"Ok." Endy said determined, he was never afraid of anything and he didn't really care who he was anymore but something in him wasn't ready to lose Selene. The look of fear she had... he never wanted her to look at him like that.
He felt a certain draw to her and he could tell she felt the same. There was no way in hell he was the one who tried to hurt her as a baby. But he had to be sure. A lot was at stake.
His life was a boring continuation of time since forever, nothing ever really bothered him or interested him. His coldness towards the world was neverending and the only person ever to pierce that ice bubble was her. He was not ready to lose her!
"Romeo, something's bugging me."
"Shoot." he said smiling.
"Why did she lose her powers all of a sudden?" Endy asked, his voice colored in worry.
"Well, that is why I'm inclined to believe you are Helios."
"I don't get it."
"Helios is the god of sun and Selene is primarily a goddess of moon."
"So what? What does it mean?"
"Have you ever seen the sun and the moon together? Helios and her are the natural opposites. Basically, if you are Helios, you two render each other helpless." Romeo smiled at the horrified expression on Endy's face.
"What the hell?! Why is everything about that girl and me so bleak?!" Endy shouted.
Romeo laughed and pulled his plate close. He had to eat because he would need all of his strength for tonight.
