''Can we come in?'' Stiles asked, his voice filled with hope. ''I don't think Lydia is interested to see you two,'' I said, pinching his cheek and patting it before he frowned. ''I'll text you when you can come and pick me up.'' ''Fine.'' Stiles muttered. Scott patted his shoulder. ''Good,'' I smiled, hopping out of the Jeep. "See you guys later!" Making my way towards the front door as the other two drove away, I decided to text Karen to tell her that I'll be home later. Hey Karen, I'm at Lydia's right now. I'll be at home later. I knocked on the front door after locking the screen. Moments later, Mrs. Martin opened it. ''Penny, oh my God, it's so good to see you again!,'' she said with a smile on her face, embracing me in a hug. "It's been so long." ''It's good to see you, too, Mrs. Martin.'' I smiled back. ''Please, come in! I believe Lydia's waiting for you.'' she said, stepping out of the way for me. ''Thanks.'' I said, entering the house as she closed the door behind her. My phone's notification sound was heard, indicating that I had received a reply from Karen. we don't care lmao Rolling my eyes at her text, I went upstairs and stopped at Lydia's door, and the faint music could be heard from the inside. I knocked three times before she revealed herself. ''Hey, babe.'' Lydia smirked. ''Hi, sweetie," I greeted her back, stepping into her room. "So, what's this 'emergency' you wanted me to help you with?" ''Okay, so, as you already know, tomorrow's the lacrosse game, and I can't decide if I should wear..." she grabbed two dresses, one in each hand. "This one or this one?" ''That's it? You wanted me to help you by choosing a dress?,'' I closed my eyes, trying my hardest not to lose it. She gave me an innocent smile and groaned in annoyance. "I should've known. Only you would call this an emergency." ''Hey, I need to look good at the game!," she protested. "Jackson's playing and I have to cheer him up." "First of all, you say that you have to look good for literally anything," I pointed out, to which she gave a shrug of agreement. "Secondly, who cares about Jackson? He's not gonna be paying attention to you, anyways, he'll be too busy playing like an animal." "Just tell me which one to wear." I sighed before pointing to the one in her left hand. ''That one.'' She looked at it, grinning in satisfaction. ''You're right. This one, definitely.'' I rolled my eyes. ''Can I go now?'' ''Actually, no.'' she said, making me groan again, but louder. ''What, do you want me to help you with your shoes, too?'' She gasped. ''How did you know?'' ''You sure are something, Lydia.'' I chuckled, shaking my head at the girl. She smiled. ''I know I am. But, other than that... can I ask you something?'' ''What?" I couldn't help but to feel suspicious of what she was gonna ask. She bit her lip, as if she, indeed, had something up on her sleeve. "What would you say if I told you that there's this guy that-" "Not a chance." ''Oh, come on, Penny! When are you getting a boyfriend?," she asked, whining and sounding almost desperate. "I mean, just think about it, It'd be so much better if you met someone. Because then, you and I could have a double dates, and we could go to the movies, eat outside, go to amusement parks-" "Which would be amazing because Jackson and I like each other so much!" I finished sarcastically, giving her a thumbs up. "Well," she started, folding her arms across her chest. "I've been dating Jackson for a while now, and you're my best friend, and I want you two getting along with each other, just for a moment, at least. Why do you hate him so much, anyways?" "Are you kidding me, Lydia?," I stared at her in disbelief. "Yes, I know he's your boyfriend, but that guy is just a pain in the ass. He's like vinegar in my mouth and I can't stand him." She rolled her eyes. "I know you don't. Anyways, I'm gonna find you a nice guy that you like sooner or later, just you wait and see." "I don't think your definition of 'nice' is the same as mine." I joked, to which she glared at me. "Jackson might not be the nicest guy, but he does have kindness deep down in his heart." I chuckled. "Sure, okay. Whatever you say." Then, after a few seconds, her eyes widened, as if she realized something. "Wait a minute," she started. "I know what this is about. This is because of the way he treats that loser friend of yours, Scott McCall, right? You seriously still like that guy?" I huffed. "So what if I do?" "Why?," she grimaced. "He's just so... ugh!" "He's not ugh," I said. "He's a really sweet guy. And he's respectful, and he makes me laugh, and we have a great time together. I would definitely pick him over someone like Jackson." ''Well, do you think he at least likes you back?'' she asked. I shook my head. ''Nah. He kind of likes this new girl, Allison.'' "Well, she's really pretty and-" she saw my annoyed face and then she stopped talking, smiling apologetically. "Oh, but you're way prettier than her, Penny!" I rolled my eyes. "It's okay. I'll try to move on from him. I should've done it a long time ago, though." "Yeah," she said, looking at the ground. But her head quickly shot up again and she smiled brightly. "So, does that mean that I can find you a boyfriend now?" *** Stiles' POV Scott and I went to the nearest diner to wait for Penny and feed ourselves, because it felt like we hadn't eaten in 2 days. "I love me a hamburger," I said before going in to bite the huge burger in my hands. It tasted like heaven, to be honest, but I wasn't sure if it was because of how hungry I was. ''So, Scotty, are you still playing tomorrow?'' ''Yeah, I am.'' Scott nodding, taking a bite of his own burger. ''Are you sure about that?'' ''Why wouldn't I be?'' ''Uh, well, let me think about it..." I pretended to do so. "Oh right, you're a freaking werewolf! What if something happens and you transform in the middle of the game? Are gonna go all crazy and kill everyone around you and create a m******e?'' Was I really the one using common sense right now? Scott sighed. "I don't know how to get out of it, though. Coach wouldn't let me out of it that easily. Maybe I can learn how to control myself." "You've literally transformed one time and you already think you can handle it?" I asked, staring at him in disbelief. He shrugged. "I'll ask Derek to help me out." "Oh, right," I muttered. "Our weird friend, Derek, he'll solve everything." ''Well, he definitely knows way more about this stuff than we do, Stiles, I basically have no other choice." he said, a little bit louder than expected, which caught the attention of various customers seated around us. ''Okay, okay, let's just change the subject," I said before we got in any kind of trouble. I took another bite of my burger. "Let's talk about girls.'' ''What about girls?'' he asked, taking another bite of his own. ''Well, I don't know," I shrugged. "Do you have one in mind?'' His expression changed suddenly, a small smile making its way to his face. "Well... do you remember Allison?" ''The new girl?,'' I asked. He nodded, still chewing on the hamburger. ''You seriously like her?'' ''Kind of, why?'' ''Do you even know her?'' I asked him. Of course he doesn't. ''I'm getting to that," Was his answer. "She went to the Clinic last night. She was scared because she hit a dog with her car, but I took care of everything. And then we just stayed there talking for a while, it was nice. And she's beautiful. Do you think she can like me back?'' ''Nah.'' I replied, taking yet another bite. ''Really?'' he said, sounding disappointed. "Oh, let's be real here, Scott," I said, leaning my back against the chair. "You're zero popular, you're a nerd and you're basically a loser. A girl like her mainly falls for a muscular and popular guy." "You don't know her like I do, though," he said, his voice sounding dreamy. "She's... she's..." "Let me guess... different?," I finished in a girly voice. "You've only talked to her what, one time? How do you know she's different from the rest?" ''I just do, okay?'' ''What about Penny? She's cute.'' the words came out before I could stop them. ''I already told you, the thought of us dating is just... insane.'' ''Why do you say that? Who knows? Maybe you two to will end up together later on. You are pretty close.'' I said, lowkey trying to convince him. He pondered over what I just said and let go of his burger. ''Did you know I had a crush on her when we were in seventh grade?'' ''Seriously?'' He nodded. ''It didn't last too much, though. I guess I just thought that she would never like me back.'' Oh my God, he's got to be kidding me. And then Penny says I'm the stupid one. ''Oh for f-... Why didn't you tell her? The two of you could've been together by now!'' "Why do you say that?" he raised an eyebrow. Shit. "Um... no reason," I tried to save myself. "Just a thought, I guess." ''Whatever, It was stupid, anyways. It was just a little crush. I got over it quickly.'' he shrugged as if it was nothing. But before I could say something else, my phone vibrated. It was Penny. Hey, pick me up NOW, you peasant. I texted her back. On my way... b***h.
