WANTED

I wondered why I couldn't see or differentiate between what is right and wrong. Why I didn't notice the minor slips ups, there were so many clues yet they passed right by my eyes. Maybe I could have prevented this situation from ever happening, could have at least tried to not let it reach to this extent. On the verge death because of a crime I did not commit, I was sentenced to be beheaded. Tears slid down from my cheeks on to the wooden stand I currently kneeled upon, my heart clenching and my breath ragged. My hands tied behind my back, my long blonde hair slightly moving by the soft summer breeze. I looked up from my teary eyes, feeling betrayed and neglected by the man whom I thought would stand by my side. And yet there he stood among the politic officials with no emotion on his face. "Last words" said he, his voice lacing with arrogance. "I will never forgive you" I whispered, trying to contain my tears. "father. " I cried. "You brought this upon yourself Emma, do not blame me for your mistakes." he looked calm and collected, his voice comforting. It reminded me of my childhood, on stormy nights he used to read me stories and kiss my forehead before I went to bed. Momentarily I thought he still cared, I was hoping he would pull out his weapon and protect me from this misfortune in the last moment. "Do not fool yourself father, you knew everything. My only mistake was that I trusted you, and you betrayed me-" "Enough!" the officer said sternly, "Let this be over once and for all"
