“Now, where were we?” The man walked towards Alora. It was when he got so close to her that she noticed how tall he was. He was so tall, she had to look up to meet his eyes.
“Aren’t you so bold? Looking at me in the eye, little girl.” His brown eyes squinted at her. He had heard about Mr. Gregor’s expensive breeder. Seeing her in person made him realize why she was expensive.
She was filled with innocence, any werewolf would go crazy for it. Her hazel eyes held no fear and it made her delicate frame look vibrant. Unlike many breeders he had seen, she looked untainted. Both mentally and physically.
“Turn around, girl.” She complied and he noticed how her hair was golden brown. With curls at the tip of it. Her feminine curves were subtle under the simple dress she wore. After examining her, he decided she was worth every dime he spent in getting her.
“You haven’t introduced yourself.” He heard her small voice say. “I’m Alora.” Most breeders didn’t have a last name as they were bred to be sold off and married to breed the next generation of werewolves. They basically didn’t really have an identity or status until someone bought them. Even when taken into a family, they were still treated like nobody.
“Talkative, too. I will have to do something about that.” He stated more like a fact while he turned her around to face him. Holding her chin between his index finger and his thumb, he tip her face up.
“For your good, little girl. You don’t speak unless spoken to.” He waited a minute for a response from her. When all he got from her was silence, he said, “Good.”
He didn’t plan on treating her horribly. By the goddess, he considered himself above all that pettiness. He simply wanted to make sure she didn’t put herself in trouble with her mouth. If a situation like that ever came, it would be hard to protect her without making more trouble.
“Follow me.” He ordered before turning to face the dogs. “You too.” They all complied like he had put a spell in them. He was a werewolf alpha. So, having full control over his surroundings was something that came natural to him.
They walked towards a black limousine and entered. “We are going to your new home. You can speak now. I want you to tell me a little about yourself.” He was bored. Some entertainment from the little one wouldn’t hurt. Besides, they were going to be in each other’s company till his uncle came for her.
“I am Alora.” She was confused about what to say next. This strange man sitting across her had his gaze on her. Having all of his attention made her scared. He was someone even her wolfhounds feared and obeyed. That alone was enough to tell her the kind of man he was.
What Alora didn’t know was that he was a werewolf. In fact, she had grown up oblivious to the fact that she lived in a world filled with werewolves.
“Is that all?” With his eyes peering at her, he reconsidered his earlier statement. “You are free to talk with me anytime without permission. Just know that doing the same to anyone else would land you in trouble. Do you understand?”
“Yes, sir. “
“Good. You’re only to speak with me and only me. For the next two weeks, I will groom you into the perfect breeder for my uncle. “ Immediately he said that, her eyes widened.
“I’m not getting married to you?” She asked, shocked. She had thought that he was the one she was getting married to.
“Who said anything about marriage? Little girl, we bought you already. There’s already a document stating that you belong to me. “ His eyes flickered with amusement.
“I am not a thing to be bought!” She bravely claimed.
“That’s not what I saw on the papers I signed this morning.” His dull brown eyes suddenly twinkled at her naivety. She really was untainted. Nowadays, finding a human female like this is almost impossible. It was even way easier to find a diamond in a pit of muddy soil than to see a breeder of her caliber.
“No!” Alora exclaimed in disbelief. “Take me back this instant!”
“Is that an order, little girl.” A lazy smile graced his lips as he leaned close towards her. She was startled by the sudden closeness for a minute before she demanded again.
“Take me back!”
“You belong to me now. Get used to that. Mr. Gregor was so eager to sell you off. But don’t worry, I’ll treasure you better before I hand you over to my uncle.” Though he was the alpha without a Luna, he was not interested in having a breeder for himself. He wanted more from a woman than just producing children.
His dear old uncle had been pestering him to get him a breeder. The old man had no heir to his wealth and refused to make him the heir. After all, they only had each other.
“I know Papa. We wouldn’t have sold me. He said you were my suitor!”
“That was him playing nice by the way. “ He said dully. “Tell me something, what did they teach you about your history?”
Alora didn’t know how to respond to that question. History was a forbidden subject back home. Papa never let her read anything about history. She had only been taught to spell her name.
“Wait a minute….” He chuckled. “You really know nothing about what has happened in the last fifty years. This is …. Wow! I have to give it up to Mr. Gregor. He really did a number on you. When he said you were untainted, he really meant it in every way.” He was thoroughly astonished at the fact that there was a living soul that knew nothing about the war that claimed the lives of most of their kinds.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, darling, that you have been living in a shell your entire life. Wait… Do you even know what your “papa” is?” He asked her.
“He is human like all of us “ At her reply, he laughed. He couldn’t hold it in anymore. She was more naïve than he thought.
“Little girl, he is a werewolf. Every staff member working in that building is a werewolf. Even though I am a werewolf,” he stated in a matter-of-fact tone. The seriousness that smeared his face was almost convincing.
Suddenly, Alora burst into laughter. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She knew the man sitting across was a wealthy, handsome young man. She didn’t expect him to be crazy too.
“You must think I’m crazy,” he said with a grin. He was going to enjoy grooming her.
“A werewolf? Please. Say something believable. If you have come up with something like; Papa is a drug dealer. And he deals in human trafficking. That’s believable. I mean, I already know he is not my actual father. “
“Human trafficking is actually not illegal now.” He said dully. “Let’s start over again, shall we?” Without waiting for her reply, he introduced himself. “I am Daniel Sawyer. You, my little one, can call me Master Dan. “
To Alora, the man seemed crazier by the minute. Why would she call him Master Dan? She wasn’t his slave or his plaything! She needed to get back home before she lost the remaining sanity she had left.
Daniel chuckled at her expression. The look on her face was priceless. Her small eyebrows scrunched up at her fire heard and her eyes were still widened. It made her look like a confused child.
Alora was indeed confused. Ever since she met this strange man, she had been hearing strange words like; bought, breeder, werewolf. She didn’t know if she was safe anymore. She believed she was stuck with a madman that had somehow charmed her dogs.
Soon, they reached a huge mansion. It was way bigger than the one Alora lived in. The statues of wolves adorned on the walls looked so real. Was this man a werewolf fanatic? She asked herself in her mind.
Why would a sane man have a scary-looking mansion adorned with weird statues? He had to be crazy!
“Please, let me go.” She was pleased with him.
“If I did, where would you run to? Your “papa” will only send you back here if you go to him. If you decide to go anywhere else, trust me, you won’t survive a day without getting raped and killed.” He made sure she knew her options were limited.
“No, there—”
He caught her off again. “ You really don’t know what the world is like. Tell me, what do you know about the war?”
“….” She was speechless.
“Fifty years back, there was a war between werewolves and humans. Predictably, the werewolves won. But, we lost a lot in the war. More than half of our population has died. Most human men died as soldiers in war. The only people affected by the war were human women and children. With hardly anyone to oppose us, many wealthy werewolves adopted many human girls for breeding. You , my dear, are one of them. “
Alora was speechless. She didn’t know what to believe anymore.
“Let’s get you out of that cheap dress you’re wearing.” He said as they walked out of the car.
Immediately they were out, a young beautiful young woman greeted only Daniel. “Mr. Sawyer. I see you have gotten a girl already. Am I not your bride anymore?”
