They had no idea how long they were sitting in quiet mourning before they finally stood up to go back to the house. The didn't need to say a word, they just knew their time was done, that they had to get up and dust themselves off and move forward. They couldn't sit there forever. Life moved on, and so must they. In front of them the old manor loomed majestically in the midnight air, statuesque and terrifying in its old, withering glory. With Gus gone, it had lost its charm. It just seemed empty now. Their legs were aching and throbbing as they trudged across the vast lawn to get back to the house. They were covered in dirt and mentally drained. They didn't have the energy to say a word, so they walked side by side staring into the distance. Something became more clear as they continued
