Over the next few days, Brady and Cara watched helplessly as Gus faded away. Each morning they would bring him his breakfast and check on him, and each day the decay became more apparent. Each day he lost a little more of that spark, that thing that makes us all human inside. He slowly became a hollow shell, and all they could do was watch from a distance and wait for him to succumb to the rabid urges that were consuming his brain.
