After a few days of cold distance between Cara and Bradley, her wounds had finally begun to heal. She felt just well enough to walk around the house and do some things for herself. She was exhausted… tired of being dependent on someone who could barely look her in the eye. The heartbreak it caused her was worse than the physical pain. She knew she was pushing herself too hard, that it was too soon for her to be out of bed. She could feel the pressure on her unhealed bones with every labored step, but she had to ignore it.
