A few days later, I had a prenatal checkup, with an ultrasound later in the day. The checkup went well, with Dr. Anders telling us the baby was growing nicely. All of my bloodwork had come back normal, with no indications of neurological defects in the baby. We got to hear the heartbeat again, and this time I made a recording. She also couldn’t wait to see the next ultrasound. We were also hoping to find out the s*x of the baby.
I couldn’t remember if I needed a full bladder or not, so I filled it to be safe. I didn’t have long to wait after checking in. I went through the same process of changing into the gown and lying on the exam table. Once again, Sara was our technician, which made me happy. I liked having familiar faces around me.
