Patricia
The man standing in front of me was tall enough that I had to tilt my head slightly to properly meet his gaze.Dark hair.Broad shoulders.
His black sleeves were folded neatly to his forearms, exposing tanned skin and a watch that probably cost more than my first car.Not that I was judging.
"Sorry."
The word left my mouth automatically. His hand immediately dropped from my arm.
"No harm done."
His voice was calm and controlled.
The kind of voice that suggested he wasn't someone who wasted words.A dangerous quality. At least according to every romance novel I'd ever read.
I quickly ignored that thought.
Around us, the music continued pulsing through the speakers while people danced beneath the shifting lights.
Yet somehow, the man standing in front of me looked completely unaffected by any of it.Like he existed slightly outside the chaos.Which was strange.
Because everyone else seemed determined to enjoy the night.
Meanwhile, this man looked like he was observing everything.
Including me.
A corner of my mouth lifted.
"You're not dancing."
One eyebrow rose slightly.
"Neither are you."
Rude.
"I was dancing."
"You looked lost."
I gasped dramatically.
"I was not lost."
His expression remained unchanged. The man didn't even have the decency to look guilty.
A laugh escaped me despite myself.
Somewhere behind me, Bianca let out a loud cheer.I didn't bother checking why.The answer was probably alcohol.
"Your friends seem entertaining."
I followed his gaze toward my group.
Marco was attempting another dance move.Sophie looked horrified.Adrian appeared ready to pretend he didn't know any of us.Jez was laughing too hard to help.mga isip bata hay..
Meanwhile, Bianca had somehow climbed onto the edge of a booth and was being encouraged by complete strangers.
"Entertaining is one word for it."
For the first time, a hint of amusement appeared in his eyes. And somehow, that made him look even more attractive.
A waiter passed nearby carrying a tray. Before I could stop myself, I realized my glass was already empty.
"Another one?"
I looked at him."Yes please."
"O-kay."
A smile tugged at my lips.Maybe it was the alcohol.Maybe it was curiosity.
Maybe it was because this was the first interesting conversation.
Either way, I handed him the empty glass.
A few minutes later, I found myself following him toward a nearby table.
In my defense, it seemed harmless at the time.
Besides, Bianca was currently leading what looked suspiciously like a dance revolution on the other side of the club.I doubted anyone would notice my temporary disappearance.
The table he occupied sat in a quieter section of the VIP area.
Just far enough from the dance floor that conversations didn't require shouting every five seconds.I settled into the chair across from him.
For a while, we talked.About random things.Travel,Food,The worst movies we'd ever watched.
The most ridiculous things we'd done while trying to impress other people.
Somewhere between the second drink and the third, I stopped paying attention to time.
The crowd continued changing around us.
May mga taong lumalabas at pumapasok palamang.
Servers moved between tables carrying trays filled with colorful cocktails.
Meanwhile, the stranger sitting across from me remained frustratingly difficult to figure out.
He never volunteered much information.Yet somehow, the conversation never felt one-sided.
"You do that a lot."
I blinked.
"Do what?"
"Think before answering."
I pointed at him.
"You're one to talk."
His expression remained calm.
Which was honestly becoming a problem. Most people reacted when teased. This man seemed immune.
"You've been studying me."
"That's a strong word."
"Observing?"
"Maybe."
I gasped dramatically."See? That sounds creepy when you say it."
For the first time, an actual laugh escaped him.A real laugh.
And somehow that surprised me more than anything else.
The hours slipped by faster after that. One drink became another.
Then another.
At some point, I kicked off my stilettos beneath the table because they were beginning to feel personally offensive.
The stranger noticed.
I smiled at him.
"Sumasakit na kasi ang paa ko."Baka nga nagka paltos na.
"You want me to check?."
"What?no!"Nahiya ako bigla.gosh
The amusement returned to his eyes.I hated how much I liked that.
Across the club, my friends had become difficult to spot. Not impossible.Just farther away.
The crowd had grown thicker.
The lights seemed brighter.
And the music somehow louder.
Or maybe that was the alcohol.
again
"You know," I said.
"Hm?"
"I don't think I've asked your name."
A pause.Then he laughed softly.
The sound surprised me.
"Neither have I."
I stared at him. Then burst out laughing.
"You're kidding."
"No."
"How long have we been talking?"
"I have no idea."
That only made me laugh harder.
This was ridiculous.I lifted my glass.
"Okay."
He picked up his own.
"Okay."
"My name is Patricia."
For a brief moment, he held my gaze and smiled. Then he answered.
"Ralf."
The name sounded familiar.
Unfortunately, my brain had already clocked out for the evening.
"Ralf," I repeated.
He nodded once.
"Patricia."
The way he said my name sent an unexpected warmth through my chest.
Around midnight, people started leaving.Tables emptied.New groups arrived. The club remained busy, but the energy had shifted.
Somewhere in the middle of all that movement, I completely lost track of my friends.
Those lunatics might have left me already.
Tumayo ako but movement turned out to be a mistake. The floor shifted slightly beneath me.I frowned.
A steady hand touched my elbow before I could miscalculate another step.
"I can walk."
"I'm sure you can."
"That sounded doubtful."
"It was."
I gasped.
Outside the main club area, the hallway felt noticeably quieter. The music became distant. The cool air helped.
The elevator arrived with a soft chime.I stepped inside and leaned against the mirrored wall.
The silence felt different now.
Meanwhile,I was losing an argument with gravity.
"How are you still standing?"
One eyebrow lifted.
"I'm standing normally."
"Show off."
The elevator doors opened.
Natahimik kami pareho.
He stared at me then he muttered a cursed.I felt a deep desire for him.
I saw his adams apple move.Parang hirap siyang lumunok.
I closed my eyes and feel his soft lips.
