A couple of weeks after the bank dacoity, one morning, Emon went along with his mother to visit his aunt in the Bezbarua farm. On reaching the farm, Mrs Barua and Emon found only Ratul and Mrs Bezbarua in the farm. Reema and Mr Bezbarua were out.
After Mrs Barua had settled down along with Mrs Bezbarua in the dining-hall of the farm house, Emon and Ratul went out to the farm.
“Will you stay today?” Ratul asked.
“Maa will go after sometime, I’ll go in the evening,” Emon said.
“Why don’t you stay for the night? You can go tomorrow or the day after.”
“But I brought only one extra dress.”
“Oh nothing will happen. You can stay today and go tomorrow evening.”
“Aatchaa.”
“Good. Have you seen our new dog?”
