After lunch with her grandfather, Leah left the restaurant and made her way back home to repeat the same routine she had been doing since she got back .

Before she left her life used to revolve around Tristan, everything she did was related to him, her schedule was filled up with his schedule , doing his paperwork, filling his contracts, creating his business plans and wasting her entire day in his company.

She got home , took a shower, did some chores , watched the television and went to bed when she was feeling tired, she didn't even have dinner because she didn't have the appetite to eat anything.

The next day she was once again woken up by the sound of her phone ringing, she stretched her body and reached out to pick up her phone, who could be calling her this early, she wondered .

Her eyes flickered with suprise when she saw Isabella's caller ID, the minute she picked the call, Isabella’s panicked voice could be heard through the phone “Leah what blood type are you” Isabella asked skipping the normal form of greeting.

Leah's face instantly became serious, she had know Isabella since she was little, she will never skip her usual greeting unless something important came up.

“ I have AB negative blood, why? What's wrong?” She asked getting of the bed and into the bathroom, she put the phone on speaker and started doing her usual morning routine.

From the other end Isabella let out a sigh, just the type of blood she needed.

“Where are you, do you think you can make it to City hospital within the next ten minutes?”

Leah was taken aback by her words, City hospital?, what there an emergency?

“I”ll try to rush the cab, but I can't make promises” Leah dressed up as fast as she could, got her purse and coat and walked out while still on the phone with Isabella .

“Okay but please hurry”, Isabella pleaded .

“What's wrong? Is there an emergency? Are you alright?” Leah asked running towards the elevator.

The elevator opened , a a male elevator host was there, “To the ground floor please” Leah quickly told the man.

“I'm fine , it's my brother …. He ….” Isabella could barely form words or sentences as she spoke to Leah.

“Your brother?, which one?” Leah asked trying to distract her a bit she knew it was best to claim her down by attempting to switch the topic.

Isabella sniffed, “The older one…” she said quietly, there was a commotion in the background and the call ended.

Leah tried to call her , but she wasn't answering , she rushed out of the elevator and luckily she was able to get a taxi as soon as she was in the street .

“Please reach City hospital within ten minutes” she pulled out a five hundred dollar bill and out it in the tip jar.

Seeing the enormous tip the driver immediately stepped on the gas , he drove as fast as the speed limit could allow him.

Sitting in the car, Leah worriedly wrung her fingers together , Her soft brows were knitted together as she thought about the possibility of what could have happened.

Isabella had two older brothers, and she was heavily doted on by both of them. They were the ideal older brothers , protective and loving and she loved both of them very dearly and would risk anything for them, so for something to happen to one of them, Leah understood the panicked reaction she had.

Within eight minutes, Leah had reached the hospital , she hurriedly paid the taxi and dropped more money into his tip jar before rushing into the hospital.

She called Isabella again and within the first ring she picked up,

“ Bella what room are you in?, i just arrived “

“ I'm on the first floor , near the emergency department,” Isabella said, suddenly standing up to meet Leah on the way.

“okay i'm on my way” Leah quickly rushed to yhe emergency department by following the signs and within two minutes she was there .

she saw Isabella pacing back and forth “isabella” Leah called out to her walking towards her.

Isabella noticed Leah and ran towards her hugging her tightly.

“What's wrong ? Why did you ask for my blood type? Leah asked , looking at the tall men surrounding the hallway, they were extremely built and all of them wore sunglasses. She recognized them as bodyguards but she was surprised by how many were present.

“My brother, He’s gotten in a really bad accident and needs blood transfusion, but there have been a lot of emergencies in the hospital and they have run out of Type AB negative blood in their storage unit” Isabella complained.

She was definitely going to take this up with the Hospital later, the Delacroix wasn’t a family to be messed with.

They were involved in different businesses, ranging from oils, restaurants, military, government, and politics, they were a very powerful family, so how could they possibly run out of blood in the hospital knowing fully well one of the heirs of the Delacroix family was in a critical condition.

“i know this is a very weird question but Leah…”

“of course you can take my blood. '' Leah didn’t need a deep explanation to understand why her best friend called her over.

“Really?, thank you so much Leah , you’re the best” Isabella jumped for joy.

She turned to one of the guards and instructed him to get the doctor so they can take Leah's blood , the guard immediately went to get the doctor.

When he came back there were two nurses following after him.

The entire process was very quick. After asking Leah a few questions and tests that confirmed Leah was in fact AB negative, they disinfected the area and began to extract the blood.

After taking two pints of blood , one of the nurses pulled out the needle “Alright you are good to go” The nurse smiled.

Leah stood up and left but she felt drowsy and immediately fell back on the bed.

“ Leah are you alright?” Isabella asked her eyebrows knitted together in worry.

“I'm fine” Leah lied , her voice came out very weak.

The nurse immediately realised they had taken too much blood out of her.

“Here maam , have some green juice and apple slices from the hospital cafeteria, it will help with your drowsy state” The nurse handed her a glass of green liquid and a plate of apples.

“Thank you “ Leah replied taking the food offered to her. She sat back down to quietly munch and drink the juice.

“We'll start the surgery now “ the nurse said to Isabella wheeling the cart containing the blood to a different room.

Isabella held Leah and led her to a chair in front of the operating room, they both sat there waiting for the operation to end.

Leah noticed how anxious Isabella was and she decided to ask questions to keep her mind occupied.

“Bella, you never told me which brother it was, the first or the second brother?” Leah asked while peeling the fruits to eat.

“ Surprisingly , its Raffy” Isabella sighed.

Raffy? Leah felt the nickname sounded familiar like she had heard the nickname before , but she couldn’t figure out where.

Leah had known Isabella since they were babies but she didn’t remember having any encounter with Rafeal , Isabella's older brother, considering the fact that hecwas a bit older than them.

“ The reports are claiming it’s a car accident, but my parents have started a Government investigation, they think its an assasination attempt” Isabella played with her fingers while talking, her usually bubbly voice was now soft and quiet.

Leah felt her heart clench at Isabellas state , she leaned closer and pulled her into a side hug so that Isabella was resting her head on her shoulders.

“Don’t worry nothing will happen to your brother, he will come out fine” Leah reassured her.

And just as she finished talking the light in the surgery room went off . A doctor and a few nurses stepped out , the two immediately stood up and walked to the doctor.

“Doctor, how is he ?” Isabella worriedly asked.

The doctor smiled “His is very stable, the surgery was an immense success and he should be awake within 1-2 days,

he will be moved to the Vvip ward , you may visit him there” the doctor signalled to the nurses who stepped forward to show them the way.

The Vvip ward, just like the name says is mostly used by presidents, the prime minister and extremely high ranking military officials.

it wasn’t something just money or status could buy, but Isabella's brother was easily assigned the room.

He was wheeled into the room and placed on the bed , after having him stabilised and hooked up to the devices everyone left the room.
