Chapter One: Onward to The Elder's Island
The Luna's Legacy is the sequel to The Luna's Justice. This chapter continues right from where Lisa and Noah received their invitation to become Elders. ***Lisa's POV*** The journey to The Elder's Council's Chambers in Florida was a family affair. Noah, the kids- Rosemary and Alexander- Barbra, John, and I all piled into the car for a road trip the day after receiving our invitation to be inaugurated. Despite the long drive, we managed to make some happy memories along the way, thanks to Barbra and John's playful bickering. "You've got the tiniest bladder, woman," chuckled John as he stood on the side of the road, keeping an eye out for cars. "It's called aging, plus having kids didn't help!" retorted Barbra from behind a bush. As Rosemary, Alexander, and I exchanged amused glances, Barbra and John continued their banter. "Don't drag me into this," sighed Noah, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!" threatened Barbra playfully as she emerged from the bushes. "Feeling better now?" I asked with a smile. After fixing her hair and clothes, Barbra glared at me. "I think a mosquito bit my ass," she growled. "Oh no!" I exclaimed with laughter. Rosemary and Alexander couldn't contain their amusement either as they ran to the other side of the SUV. "Well, it is a good-looking ass," quipped John before giving Barbra a playful smack on her ass. As they got lost in each other's eyes, Noah and I took that opportunity to slowly back away to get back into the car. "I love my parents, but I really don't need to witness how I was created," mumbled Noah with wide eyes. "You know they get up to some freaky s**t," I whispered conspiratorially, poking Noah in the side. "Eww please stop," groaned Noah dramatically. "Are Poppa and Nanna planning on sneaking in a quickie before we reach our destination?" asked Rosemary with a disgusted expression. "Nah, they wouldn't do that. We have a schedule to keep," replied Alexander, checking his watch. We all peered out the window, observing Barbra and John's playful antics. John had playfully grabbed Barbra's ass, causing her to squeal with delight. "I think you may be mistaken..." I chuckled. "Oh no," groaned Noah. "Kids, we'll be right back!" John hollered as he took Barbra by the hand, leading her off into the bushes. "Oh my God!" exclaimed Noah as he sank down in his seat, covering his face with his hands. "Glad we get to smell the scent of senior citizens' lovemaking for the rest of the trip," muttered Alexander. "ALEXANDER!" I scolded, before all three of us erupted into laughter. Noah just gazed out of his window in dismay. "It's heartwarming to see Nanna and Poppa enjoying themselves so much. I think it's romantic. When was the last time they had a vacation?" Rosemary declared, slipping on her sunglasses. I leaned over onto Noah, softly kissing his neck. "Let your parents have some fun. They deserve it," I whispered in his ear. I could feel the hairs on his neck stand up as my lips brushed against his skin, sensing his excitement. Noah squirmed in his seat before turning to me. "You're right. I'll try to be supportive," he sighed. With a gentle smile, I rubbed his thigh. "Stop teasing me or I'll have no choice but to take you into the bushes myself," he joked. "Gross, are you two flirting again? Can we please not turn this road trip into a trip to Horny Town?" Alexander grumbled. Noah raised an eyebrow at Alexander's remark. "Jealous that you don't have someone to make out with? Let mom and dad have their fun," Rosemary retorted. "Thanks, honey. Always the hopeless romantic," Noah grinned. "They're coming back," I whispered as we pretended we weren't waiting for them to finish their tryst in the bushes. "Sorry about that!" John apologized as he opened the door for Barbra. We resumed our assigned seats in the vehicle, with the kids in the backseat and John and Barbra in the middle. Noah and I took turns driving. Noah cleared his throat after a moment of uncomfortable silence. "Let's try not to make any more stops, please." "Why? Don't you enjoy the fresh air with a hint of pootang?" Alexander quipped from the backseat while scrolling through his phone. I saw Barbra's face turn beet red as John just sat with a smug expression, his arm wrapped lovingly around his wife. "Alexander!" Both Noah and I scolded him simultaneously. Thankfully, the rest of the drive went smoothly without any more pit stops. Alexander continued to roast his grandparents while Rosemary defended their love. Eventually, she gave up and got lost in her book. Peeking at everyone behind me through the rear view mirror, it was heartwarming to see them all enjoying each other's company. Noah gazed at me with a smile that made my heart skip a beat and ignited a flame within my soul. His hand reached out to caress my cheek, leaving a trail of warmth in its wake. "Have I told you how beautiful you are today?" Noah asked, his words making me blush. His fingers gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear, causing shivers to run down my spine. "Yes, but it's always nice to hear it again," I admitted, pressing a kiss to his hand. He chuckled and playfully pinched my cheek before tracing his finger along the bridge of my freckled nose. "You're stunning," he said with a playful wink. "Well, you're quite breathtaking yourself, Alpha," I whispered with a smile. *** We arrived at the ferry docking station, which seemed to have a sparse crowd. Hopefully, there were enough people to run the ferry to the island where we would be staying with The Elder's Council, The Chamber's. The scenery was absolutely stunning, with lush greenery and vibrant flowers and birds that took our breath away. As we approached, the sky mirrored the crystal blue water below and the white sand glittered like diamonds. Taking in a deep breath of the salty air, I felt a sense of tranquility wash over me. We arrived at the docks and were directed to check in at the ferry terminal. A tall, well-built Cuban man in a crisp white suit greeted us with a warm smile and long dreadlocks reaching down his back. "Welcome, Alpha, Luna. I'm Richard, your Captain," he introduced himself with a booming voice. "Hello, Richard, nice to meet you. How do we go about this?" asked Noah as he shook Richard's hand, but even with his height, Richard towered over him like a statue. When it was my turn to shake hands, I couldn't help but marvel at the size difference between my small hand and his giant palm. "You're enormous!" I exclaimed, caught up in my amazement. "I wouldn't want anyone to mess with you or your wolf," I added, causing Richard to laugh loudly. "The largest in this area, little lady!" "I apologize for my outburst. That was rude of me," I said sheepishly, bowing my head. "It's all good, don't worry about it. To answer your question, Alpha, you can simply drive your SUV onto the ferry, then come up to enjoy the ride on the upper deck. I'm sure the kids will love it," Richard said with a smile, his golden eyes flickering. "Sounds good to me," Noah replied as we made our way back to our vehicle. Richard led us towards the awaiting white and gold ferry. "Wow, he's huge! I wonder if he could give me some tips on getting ripped like that," Alexander exclaimed, gazing at Richard as he moved the chain to let us through. "You should ask him, pipsqueak," Rosemary teased. Alexander swung at Rosemary, but she quickly dodged it before karate chopping him in the throat. I rolled my eyes and sighed. "The security here is tight. All the guards are built like tanks, although the Elders can handle themselves," John explained. "Why don't we see more of them then?" I asked, scanning our surroundings. "They keep a low profile to avoid unwanted attention. But trust me, they're always around," Noah added as he pulled onto the ferry. We stepped out of the SUV and stretched our legs. I noticed a tall man with a tan complexion, short curly brown hair, and bright green eyes walk by and greet Richard before putting up the chain again. "Where did he come from? I didn't even sense him," Raven gasped in surprise. "I told you," Noah chuckled as he took my hand and led me to the top deck. "This place is gorgeous! Even though it's just a short ferry ride, the view is breathtaking!" gushed Barbra, leaning against the railing and admiring the large island in the distance. Alexander ran off to talk to Richard while Rosemary enjoyed the cool breeze on her freckled face, curls bouncing in every direction. "This is amazing. I can't wait to go for a swim," I said, closing my eyes and soaking in the warm sun rays. "That'll be a relief after driving in this heat. And I have to admit, I enjoy looking at your body," Noah whispered seductively as his hands slid under my loose tank top and gently caressed my stomach. The rest of us silently enjoyed the ferry ride except for Alexander who was busy chatting with Richard. Richard seemed to thoroughly enjoy his company and lively conversation. Noah and I smiled at each other, shaking our heads at Alexander's adventurous nature. "You nervous?" Noah asked me. "Maybe a little," I confessed. A spray of warm saltwater splashed onto us, and I couldn't resist licking my lips to taste the slight bitterness. "I'm a bit nervous too, but we've got this. Being invited here to become an Elder is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Noah reassured me. "Enjoy your downtime, you two. Don't worry about anything. You will make great Elders," John replied as he massaged Barbra's shoulders. "Yes, sir!" Noah and I cheered in unison. I couldn't wait to explore the island, meet the people who knew about my past as a human, and see what awaited us as Elders. Yet, despite the excitement, nerves crept up on me. "Don't worry, we're all here for you. It's an honor to be chosen as an Elder. And maybe we can even catch a seagull or two," Raven said excitedly. "Mmm, I'm with you on that," Jared growled hungrily. A group of seagulls flew over us towards the island, and I glanced back at Noah with a smirk. He just shook his head in amusement. "You guys and your endless appetite," he laughed. "Yup!" Raven and Jared agreed in unison.
