CHAPTER 16

WORKING MAN

Lisa wore a long blue jean and sky blue basic top, a blue hair band, added some lip gloss, her gold bracelet and jean scrounge weren't left out, and oh!, her strawberry perf, gave her and amazing scent. She took her jean tote bag, and off she went, to the bustop. She dailed Ethan's line and he picked almost immediately.

" hello"

" hi lisa"

" where are you?"

" At work"

"Work?. Well, i need to tell you something because its urgent"

" what is it?"

" i need meet you in person "

" ok, come to mainland avenue, i'm offloading some deliveries in the store house "

"Oh!, the Burger and Banter sto..."

"Yeah "

Call disconnects and Lisa smiles victoriously

....finally got you!....she mutters.

Ethan was about carrying the next carton when he saw Lisa approaching. Lisa on the other hand couldn't take her eyes off Ethan, who was shirtless, with just a black singlet,which revealed his muscular physique and smooth skin. He was sweating and his hair crept down his dark brown eyes ....she was lost....

"Hey!", Ethan snapped his fingers at her face.

"I'm here, why snap?, i'm not blind "

" you were lost in thoughts "

" whatever. I got you something, here", she handed him a bag. He collected it and peeped inside

" what's this?"

" I got it from Mac dowells eatery, its their newest snack, so try it"

Ethan smiled

" thanks. I'll eat it after i'm done with work"

"No!, you're gonna eat now!"

" I'm working lisa. I get paid by the number of cartons i take in , so eating now is a big distraction "

That is not a problem, you eat while i help you offload"

Ethan looked perplexed

" can you even carry a chair?", he teased

" seriously you underestimate me"

"Really?"

" relax buddy, i'm strong"

Ethan sat on a half wall, while he took a bite of the freshly made burger, watching lisa struggle to carry one carton into the warehouse.He chuckled. After lisa carried three cartons, she was tired .

She went to Ethan who was still sitting on the half wall, and looking at her.

" why do you keep staring at me?, aren't you done eating?"

" like for real?, you told me to relax and that is exactly what i'm doing "

" how many minutes will you take to eat a burger and a soft drink?"

" huh!. You called me because of an emergency right?"

" Not really "

Ethan looked suprised

" you're such a prankster "

"I'm not. Get up u lazy ass"

Ethan stood up and they strolled toward the warehouse. A co worker passed them , giving a comment.

"You're girl, she's pretty", he said and winked at lisa, then walked pass.

Ethan and lisa exchanged glances and looked away immediately.Lisa followed Ethan into the store house, carrying just one carton while Ethan carried five. She wasn't watching her steps, rather she watched him, his steps, trying to escape the effect he had on her, but as she moved an inch closer she tripped and Ethan swiftly pulled her closer...
