REDUCTION OF ADDICTIONS
Addiction has become a very common thing nowadays in the life of the younger generation. During the time, alcohol addiction was common for men, but nowadays this affects youngsters also. But now addiction has different forms, like overthinking addiction, tobacco addiction, s*x addiction, d**g addiction, video game addiction, internet addiction, shopping addiction, gambling addiction, food addiction. According to studies, these are the most common addictions.
The period of adolescence is one of the most vulnerable times for addiction development. Most teenagers are introduced to and use addictive drugs for the first time during their teenage years. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were just over 2.8 million new users of illicit drugs in 2013. Of these, they averaged 7,800 users per day. 54.1% of them were under 18. Approximately 20.6 million Americans over the age of 12 suffered from an addiction in 2011. More than 90% of those with addictions began drinking, smoking, or using drugs before age 18.
The addiction is caused by chronically high levels of exposure to an addictive stimulus (for example, eating food, using cocaine, engaging in s****l activity, participating in high-thrill cultural activities such as gambling, etc.) over an extended period of time. Addiction develops via transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms. Children who experience adverse childhood events are at risk of developing negative health outcomes.
Children who experienced a***e in the court system were found to have an increased risk of developing addiction in their adolescent or adult years, according to a study of about 900 court cases. Several studies have demonstrated that childhood a***e or exposure to violent crime was positively related to the development of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and d**g dependence risk.
