Seer

I don’t know what to say to calm Amanda. She seems freaked out. It’s definitely making me feel anxious since this is about me. I live a pretty boring life so I’m not sure what future me is planning but she needs to chill. “It’s ok Amanda. Just breathe and start from the beginning. Since its me you saw maybe I can help you figure things out.” Amanda nods her head and takes a deep breath. “ you’re right. Ok I never got to see your face. Your back was to me the whole time. It looked like you were painting somewhere in the woods. You had paint on your fingers. There was a bear but it didn’t seem threatening it was just watching you and you’d look to it once in awhile.” “Ok I do go in the woods to paint when I’m stressed. I just started the last couple years. I’m guessing I’m there. I never seen a bear up there though but it doesn’t mean they’re not there.” Amanda smiles at me. “It gets bad. I’m sorry. You start walking down a little hill off to the side of the bear and find Rowen laying there. It looks like he’s dead but you drop to your knees and when you touch him your head snaps up. There’s a silver light coming out of your eyes and then you fall back. You’re not moving but all of a sudden Rowen pops up. Right when he sees you it starts pouring rain. I woke up after that.” “That sounds like an intense dream and I’m sorry you had it Amanda. Rowen is one of the warriors that controls weather. That explains the rain suddenly. Maybe he was just knocked out for a minute and came to. I don’t have any explanation for the light or the bear.” “I can’t figure it out either. The seers have a rule that we must figure out our visions or dreams and give them purpose before we tell the person. I had this two days ago and haven’t had another or been able to give it purpose but I just had to tell you Eva. I’m sorry I couldn’t help more.” She started to cry. “Oh Amanda! Don’t cry!” I hug her. “Hey we’re friends. If I was in your position I’d feel the same way about having to let you know no matter what. I won’t say a thing but I’ll keep thinking about it and if I can figure any more out I’ll come find you. We can go on a friendship walk and so no one hears.” “You always know how to handle things. I’m very grateful for our friendship and that you haven’t forgotten about me.” “I could never forget about my equally obsessed with ice cream friend.” We laughed and Amanda wiped her eyes. “I better head back. Thank you for helping me.” “Thank you for telling me. Bye Amanda.” She waved bye and headed around the corner when she stopped and bowed her head. “Hello future alpha.” Wesley waved at her while walking towards me. “Eva.” He looked conflicted but went on. “I won’t say anything but I heard her.” “We’re you eves dropping Wesley? That was a private conversation. One that can get her in trouble so please keep it to yourself.” “I’m sorry I got worried when I saw a seer come to you. I needed to know.” Wesley brushed his hand on my cheek before he dropped it. “Rowen does sweeps through our woods regularly. He’s fast and with his powers a very good fighter. I’m concerned if something got the better of him and that you are in the area with it.” “We don’t even know what happens or if there is something. Maybe now that she’s told me that part she will have another dream. Until then we’ll just have to wait and see.” “I’m not a wait and see type person.” I try my very best at a stern slightly attitude face. It must of worked. “But I’ll do it for you. However not forever. I’ll give it a few days after that I’m gonna ask questions and figure this out before anyone gets hurt.” “As long as you promise to not get Amanda in trouble.” “I can do that.” Wesley promised. He just stood there staring at me after that. It looked like he wanted to say more but held back. “I should get inside and help out before my mom comes out here.” “She has been watching from the window for a couple minutes now but you’re right. Your father says there’s much to do to make it how she wants.” “Thanks for helping Wesley. In both things. I’ll see you tonight. Try not to get me struck down from the goddess.” I winked at him as he laughed at me. “I’ll do my best Eva.” I walked inside and Wesley went back to help Brian. My mom is pretending like she wasn’t eavesdropping by the kitchen table. Steph is sitting calmly with the biggest smile on her face. “Everything ok with Wesley?” My mom asks. “Yeah. Why would there be something wrong with Wesley?” “Oh nothing. He just seemed pretty serious.” “He’s helping perform Brian’s ceremony with his father and then mine by himself. I think he is just nervous to mess up and leave me powerless.” “Oh nonsense. He’ll do just fine. The goddess herself gave him special blessings. I have no doubt he was meant for this role.” “We’re often our biggest critic though mom. Until he’s a seasoned ceremonial pro he’s probably going to have doubts. With us being the last lake I can see why he might be stressed.” “You’re right Eva. I don’t think that’s the proper word for it but you’re right.” “Ok boss lady, boss us around.” I clap my hands and get us back on track. I have a feeling this is going to take longer than expected. I’m handed a box of table cloths and Steph is handed a box of dishes and cups. After 2 and a half hours the tables are completely set up for guests late tonight. We set up the table for all the food as well. I don’t even want to know how late everyone will be out tonight. It’s a good thing it’s Friday and I don’t have school tomorrow.
