Broken heart

“Mom, what did you think about me getting a job?” I was on a call with her so I used the opportunity to ask for her opinion

“A job? You wanted to work?” She asked

“Yeah! I am tired of doing nothing” I said lazily

“But you can work at your dads company, you know any position you wanted” mom insisted

“No I don’t, do you remember my experience with dad? It’s so tiring!” I pouted and I added

“Mom I think this job that I applied for is the best thing ever”

“Did your husband knows about it too?” She curiously asked

“No! He won’t allow it am keeping it a secret until I get the job”

“But..” She tries to complain

“Mom, am a grown adult and it’s my decision. I don’t want to be sitting all day waiting for him to come back in the night, it’s not part of my dream. You also has your own work and you don’t have to depend on others” I explained with an understanding voice so that my mom will understand what I’m saying

“Okay dear, am not saying you should not work or do anything you want but you said Myles do not know about this, don’t you think he’s going to get mad if he knows? I don’t want anything that’s going to ruin your marriage”

“Myles is a good guy, I’m sure he’s not going to get mad at me. Nothing will happened” I replies with a smile

“Okay then it’s fine”

“So when am I going to have my grandchild?” She asks with a smile

“Mom!” I shouted

“It’s fine I know you won’t tell me, am just teasing you” she laughs and i can imagine her face right now

“Do you really have to do this right now?” I smiles back

“I know you want to work and you can decide the time you think it will be the best to have your kids”

“But I do know that whatever you decide, I will always be there to support you” her words made me happy. She always the only one who understands me

“Thanks mom, you are the best mom ever” I shouted happily

“Have anyone told you that you are momma’s girl” she teased

“I don’t care, I like it that way” I pout and we both laughed

“Bye mom!”

Later in the evening

I know Chloe will call me but I don’t know it’s will be this soon. She’s a jealous girl and if she hear I got married she’s going to hate it and that’s the reason why I marry Maeve But is it really my fault?

I had a phone call from the recruiter “hello sir”

“How was it John?” I asked cause I told him to be fast with everything

“Everything is going well, a lot of people applied for the position more than we expected and you said the interview should hold tomorrow but sir a day won’t be enough for the interviewing so I had to call if you can make it a week”

“No it must be tomorrow, I had a lot of work to do and I need a secretary. I wouldn’t mind if the person start to work the same day but that Tuesday the secretary must be present on in my office”

“But how are we going to do it?” He asked thinking that it’s impossible to make it happen

“Just took three person with the best CV”

“What? Sir I don’t understand”

“Three people out of who submitted their application with the best CV and I will do the final interview tomorrow myself” john replied with an understanding sound

“Good night sir” he said. I reply him and hang up.

I feels bored, this must be the reason why Maeve went out yesterday. Usually I don’t have any days off but I make a day off for her so that she wont feels alone every time. Should i go and meet her? I don’t know why I like her to be around me.

Knock!knock!!

“Come in” i said knowing who is it already

She walk inside slowly and sit on the couch looking at my face

“Do you want to say something? You can tell me what it is” I was standing up before she come in but I had to sit beside her cause she look like she wanted to tell me something.

“I didn’t have anything to tell, but I have a question to ask” she said

“Okay?” I said raising a brow cause am curious of what she wants to ask.

“Can you tell me more about her?” She asked looking straight to my eyes

“Her?”

“Yeah, Chloe”

Why is she suddenly asking about her? I know we planned something before we got married but I don’t know she’s going to ask anything further

“Is it because she called earlier?” I had to ask her

“No, have been always curious about it, how you guys met why she cheated on you and how you knew about it” she said but I was hesitant to say anything.

“I thought we are friends right? You don’t suppose to feel awkward telling me about it” she added

“If you don’t want to tell me, it’s fine” she smiles at me. It makes me wonder why she has to be so understanding.

“No it was not a big deal” i replied

“We met during a dinner party, I went there with my dad then cause he wanted to introduce me to more businessmen. She was there standing at a side I think she was talking to her friend and she was smiling, when I saw her I felt something then our gaze met she also keeps looking at me so I went to meet her so we had a little chat and we exchanged numbers. Since then we started talking from there she became my girlfriend” i smiles since it was a good memory for me

“You ask me how I knew that she cheated? Do you know she calls me earlier and she told me she did it because I didn’t give her the attention she wanted!” I scoffs

“Really!”

“I have always been busy but if we aren’t able to see each other we do talk on phone and FaceTime. But that day, I wanted to surprise her so I asked someone to track where she is, through that they found out she’s in a club” I smirked

“I thought she was bored so she went to club to catch some fun and to drink so I went there but I saw her. I smiles and I was about to call her so that I can tell her to look in front of her like a surprise but then ……” I felt disgusted that I don’t want to say it but I will. I stood up and take a deep breath before I continue

“I saw two guys joining her table and they started kissing one after the other doing some disgusting stuff, stripping her while the second guy was caressing her body. But what hurts me the most is that when she saw me cause I was standing there speechless. Shocked by what I see my phone fell, but she didn’t even feels shock, she just told them to not mind me and continued” My eyes turned red, I have never cried because of anyone so Chloe won’t be any different but I had a broken heart and it hurt.

“Do you think it’s my fault?” I asked her

“That is way too much! That’s so gross! Never in my life have I seen anyone so shameless as her, They can’t even get a room” she scoff

“All because she wasn’t given an attention?” Maeve shouted with shocked

I gave her a sad smile, Seeing my face Maeve feels my pain the look on her face is a pity one

“You don’t need to look at me that way, I don’t like the look” I said with a fake smile and turn my back at her. I don’t want see my face cause it’s show that am hurting. Then I felt something behind me

It was Maeve’s hug and she adds “I don’t know how to heal a broken heart or gave a healing speech but I do know how to give a consoling hug and I hope it did something”

I felt shocked and surprised at the same time, she makes me forget about everything all I just want at the moment is this hug to last forever.

I woke very early, I told the chef that I had somewhere to be by 8:00 AM so they should make my breakfast before seven.

“Good morning!” He greets

Why did he woke up so early? Is he going somewhere? And he’s dress already? I have not even started dressing up or did my makeup?

“Morning Myles, you are going out earlier than expected” I asked, staring at him cause he’s dressed and he sat at the dining eating silently, it’s just 6:45 Am and he’s ready.

“Yeah I had some things to do” he replied

“But why are you up by now? Eating breakfast this early too and your hair is wet. Did you just finish showering?” he stares back at me waiting for my reply

I will dry my hair later, I just wanted to eat first then start dressing up but am definitely not going to answer that question. I had to ignore it

“But the way you work always makes me think twice that are you the boss or an employee and today is also too extra” I scoffed

“But that’s because I had a meeting in Paris, and I still have some things to do at work too so I had to take a early flight so what about you?”

Me? Am I supposed to tell him that I applied for a job? At his company? To be his secretary!
