The Unexpected Love

Reginald got home very early with an angry face looking frustrated. Mrs. Denny was worried and asked him why he's come home very early. " Mom I'm loosing recognition in the school, did I say I'm loosing, no I've lost recognition in the school. Everyone hates me now, they're saying hurtful words to me" he said that to his Mom while shedding tears. " Son are you crying?, I've never seen you cry ever since you were born, you're a strong boy you're not weak don't let what they said to you make you weak son" his mom told him. " Mo m I'm weak already, my friends looked at me in the face and told me I never saw them as my friends and I never loved them", he told his mom. " I'm sorry son but I think what they said was true,ever since your father died, you became a whole different person, you started acting weird, always shouting at the maids and even me, I thought it would stop when you get over your father's death but it didn't you grew with it and I couldn't control you again, I really wanted to get the opportunity to speak to you but you didn't give me the chance because you had no time for your mother" his mother told her as she started shedding tears. " You mean my behavior is as a result of my father's death " he asked his mom. " Yes Reginald, you became depressed because you found out that someone shot your dad in the chest and started hating human beings, you would always say human beings are cruel and you would never show any human love, that was at 9 years, you're 17 now, it's been 8 years now and it's high time I tell you the truth, please all the attitudes you've been showing for years now wasn't good, everything they told you was true.

Reginald kept quiet when his mom told him to turn a new leaf and begin to love and he'll begin to experience how beautiful love is. She told him that he should give himself a chance to show care to people and also humble himself before others and he'll be shocked how people will love and care for him again. Reginald was speechless and in tears, he hugged his Mom tight and apologized to his Mom for all his behaviors towards her. His mom told him not to apologized to her she's forgiven him already, those who need his apology was his school. He agreed with his mom and went into his room.

In the evening, Reginald ate with his mom at the dinning table. This has never happened before. Mrs. Denny saw a change in her son.

Reginald stayed at home for weeks, he kept himself indoors during that moment thinking about how to face the school after all that he's done to them. His mom knocked unto his door and she entered, " mom please don't knock when entering my room again, you're my mother you can enter anytime okay", he told his mother. His Mom told him she's worried and want to know why he's decided not to go to school. He told his mom that he doesn't have that courage to go back to school because he's cause many conundrum over there. His mom told him to gather courage and go to the school,he should prove to them that he's a changed person. He agreed with her and decided to go the next day.

I asked Francesca that has she seen Reginald after the incident weeks ago. She told me that she has not seen him after that incident she thinks that he decided to stay at home for weeks because of the embarrassment. But she was confused asking why I'm asking her that question, do I even care about him, I told her that at least we should think about him he's a human being too. " Fiona are you sure that's the reason for asking me this question?" She asked doubting my answer to her question. I didn't answer her.

Reginald got ready that morning and decided to go to school. He ate his breakfast, pecked his mom's forehead and bid her goodbye. She told him "son prove to them that you've changed okay". " Okay mom I'll don't worry" he assured his mom and entered his car and drove off.

On his way, he saw two girls walking down the street, he stopped and politely asked them to give them a lift but they refused because they thought that he was still the rude guy they knew."no please we're okay" one of them said. The other girl asked" are you not the rude guy we know?" No please I'm a changed person, get inside and let me take you girls to school please" he asked them again.

They were surprised to see a sudden change of behavior. They agreed to enter and they left with him. When they got there, he got out of the car and went to open his car for them to go. They thanked him for his kind courtesy. When they were going, one girl said "this guy has disappeared from the campus for weeks because of the embarrassment his friends gave to him". " But he came back and started acting like a changed person" the other asked. "I think he came back to prove to them that he's changed".

All of these happened in front of us when we were standing in front of our class watching students move to their various classrooms. We both shouted with shock" what!". Reginald just took some girls into his car and dropped them off at school, he even opened the door for them to go. I was shocked so as Francesca too was shocked. "This boy might be pretending", Francesca told me. " We all don't know unless we find out that he's really changed" I told her. " Are you telling me that you believe that this guy has changed?" Franca asked me. I told her that I don't believe that but we've to keep an eye on him and see if he'll still put up that behavior again. Reginald entered his classroom and saw his friends sitting at another place instead of where they use to sit. He went to sit down feeling lonely, no one talked to him nor smiled at him. The teacher entered and greeted them they stood up including Reginald. The teacher was surprised. He told them to sit down. He asked Reginald why he hasn't been in school for weeks now. He said " I'm sorry sir, I wasn't feeling well". Everybody was taken aback when they heard Reginald's reply to the teacher's question, they were expecting him to react just like he has been doing but he didn't. " Wonders shall never end, what made you change like that,am I dreaming?" The teacher asked. He continued his teaching.

During break time, Reginald Denny suddenly became an introvert, he was in the classroom, didn't have anyone to talk to, he didn't even go out to get food for himself. Looks like he's decided to be in his lane to avoid any insults from anybody. " Mom told me that I've to apologize to my friends, I think I'll do that as soon as they come back from break", he thought. Eddie and Scott was surprised to see Reginald's behavior that morning. Scott told Eddie that he thinks that Reginald has changed and he feels that he'll apologize to them soon. Eddie agreed and told him that they should accept his apology when he apologizes. They went into the classroom and he went straight to where they were sitting and asked them to give him their time he wants to tell them something. He told them that he's sorry for the pain he's caused them, he's now realized that he did not value their friendships and love towards him. He's now a changed person and wants to make amends with them. They should please forgive him and come back together again as friends, he promised them that he'll value their friendships from now on and their friendship will become the best ever on campus. Scott felt sad and hugged him, Eddie followed too. They forgave him and they came back as friends again. He apologized to his classmates too and they all forgave him. Eddie and Scott went to sit with him again. Scott asked him the reason behind his behavior that time and he explained everything to them. They now saw the reason he was very rude, arrogant and mean to people but now they see a calm, nice and good person before them. Eddie told Reginald that he owed Kimberly and Marsha an apology.

They were preparing to go home when Reginald saw a girl fall down, he rushed to help the girl stand up and said sorry to her. The stood up and it was Kimberly. Kimberly was surprised to see him," did you just help me? When did all these start?" She kept asking rhetorical questions. " I'm so so so sorry Kimberly for playing with your heart, I never knew what it was like when someone loves you, I thought that fame was the only important thing in life but now I know that it's not that" he apololgized. Whiles he was talking, his friends came to stand by him and they told Kimberly to forgive him because he's changed and he's no longer who he used to be. " Are you guys sure that he's not playing you again" Kimberly asked. They told him that they're very sure. Kimberly forgave him and he gave her a hug. They left for home when he was entering his car with his friends, he saw Marsha entering her car and he rushed to kneel her and asked for her forgiveness. Marsha cried uncontrollably saying " I'm not sure I can't forgive you, what you did hurt me so much" she entered her car and drove off. His friends helped him to get up and they went into the car and drove off.

Reginald has really changed,see how he begged Marsha and Kimberly to forgive him. I couldn't believe it at first but what my eyes saw made me believe that he's really changed and that makes him look very handsome than before. Did I just compliment the guy I hated?. Oh my goodness, am I falling for him again?. Yes again. I onced loved that guy every other girl did but his behavior towards me during the car incident made me hate him and decided to revenge on what he did to me. This revenge has changed him than to cause harm to him and now here I am complimenting him and falling for him again. No I'm not going to fall for him again, I might get heartbroken by his bad attitude towards me again. I was deep in thoughts thinking about this when my mom startled me by calling my name. "Fiona! What's wrong with you, what are you thinking about I've called you for times without number and you were not responding". "How long have you been here mom" I asked her. She said only God knows when now get up and do your chores as soon as possible.
