The Convoy

Prologue A couple of months ago Estrella Solis had been a teacher in a primary school in one of the South-American metropolises and her life had been an even flow. The world she had been living in was clean and ordered, the rules making the individual work for the common good. Criminals and handicapped who couldn’t be fixed by bionic medicine, were eliminated. The laws of those days convicted Etta for solitude. Due to her defected genome, she was banned from breeding, and therefore men were not interested in marrying her. Women like her were often abandoned even by their own families. Craving some companionship, Etta had bought an AC – Android Companion – and was astonished how human-like the machine turned out to be. She thought her life to be stable and devoid of surprises, but one day her friend from the past days came with a proposition. Etta and her companion were to join a crusade for colonizing one of Jupiter’s moons. Etta accepted the deal, not knowing the complexity of the government’s plan and an amount of information that were hidden from the crusaders. Even before they had started a lot of unpredictable and not always pleasant things happened. It turned out that her seemingly honest friend hid a lot from Etta, and her brother-in-law was in reality a perverted murderer. And it was only the top of the mountain of trouble…
