Chapter 3

1122 Words
White Jacob inherited his vast wealth from his parents, who built a successful tech empire, he inherited a significant amount of wealth and connections from his family and he's following in their footsteps, building on their legacy while carving out his own path. White grew up in a life of privilege, with every luxury at his fingertips. But as he grew older, he became disillusioned with the trappings of wealth, he feels like it's more of a burden than a blessing. He's constantly hounded by the media, targeted by greedy relatives and opportunistic acquaintances, and overwhelmed by the responsibility of managing his money. He derives pleasures in the simple things of life and is tired of the fancy dinners and exclusive restaurants he's always expected to attend. One day, he spots a clean and homely diner called "Kitchn" and decides to give it a try and since then he has never regretted that decision of his. Anytime he goes there he orders the peppered meat, and the cook makes it with love and care. White is blown away by the flavor and authenticity of the dish. He feels like he's stumbled upon a hidden gem. White becomes a regular at the diner, and the owner, a kind older woman named Cynthia, takes a liking to him. She starts to serve him secret menu items and shares stories of her life, and White feels like he's discovered a new family. He starts to realize that sometimes, the most valuable things in life aren't about money, but about connection and authenticity. One day he went to the local diner to get some peppered meat then he noticed a lady, he didn't know why, but he was drawn to her. He approached her, and they started talking. She showed him a glimpse of her pain and as they talk, He starts to realize that her struggles are similar to his despite their different circumstances. They connect in a way they haven't connected with anyone in years. He is struck by her honesty and vulnerability. They talk for a short period of time but felt like they've known each other for a lifetime. He realizes that the sadness he's been feeling is not unique to him and it's not a sign of weakness. It's a part of the human experience. And as he leave the diner, He feels a little lighter. He knows he'll see her again. (The next day).... (Striding confidently into his office) Alright, it's meeting time! Let's do this. White has a meeting with his financial advisor to discuss his investment portfolio and long-term wealth management strategy and a presentation to his team on a new product launch, inspiring them to work hard and think creatively. ..... White POV I walk confidently into the office of a venerable man, I couldn't wait for him to come over to my office because I just wanted to get everything done with today "Hi, I'm White Jacob. Nice to meet you. My parents kinda pressured me into this meeting, but I'm here" I introduced myself while offering my hand for a handshake. "Oh I know exactly who you are, I'm Ben Darmen the financial adviser of this tech company" he introduced himself. "I must say, I didn't expect you to appear in my office abruptly, I guess you prioritize your time well and that's a wonderful trait so let's get this meeting done with" After lots of talk on assets, financial cushion and management strategy we got to the issue of trust fund Honestly, the trust fund is definitely the main gig, but I've also got some investments that bring in some cash. And I do a bit of freelancing on the side. You know, hustling and whatnot." - Ben "Props to you for being a responsible and mature young billionaire. Not everyone with a trust fund has the financial acumen you've got. Let's dive into your investments. Do you have any specific investment goals, like saving for retirement or buying a property?" Definitely! I'm thinking long-term here. I want to build a solid nest egg for the future, and maybe buy a property in a few years. I know I gotta be smart with my money, you know? - Ben: "Smart man! So, to build that nest egg, we'll look at investment vehicles like index funds, bonds, and maybe even some real estate investments. And with the property, we'll need to factor in things like location, market trends, and taxes. It's a lot to consider, but we'll work through it together." Thanks Mr Ben Darmen. I know it's a lot to juggle, but I'm feeling confident with you at the helm - Ben: "Alright, let's break out the spreadsheets and get this show on the road! First stop, analyzing your cash flow and setting up a budget. Then we'll dive into those investment options and start building that nest egg. You're gonna be a financial guru in no time! I like the sound of that! Financial guru has a nice ring to it. But seriously, I appreciate the guidance. It's good to have someone to bounce ideas off of - Ben: "And that's a wrap! It's been a pleasure strategizing with you, Ben. I'm pumped to see where this journey takes you. Keep an eye out for my follow-up email with some recommended steps and resources." "Thanks again, I can't wait to dive into those materials. And hey, I might hit you up for some more advice down the line. I feel like we make a pretty good team." ...... - The young billionaire exits the meeting, feeling a sense of accomplishment. As he walks to his car, his mind starts to wander to the young lady he'd met at the diner a day ago. He can't shake the feeling that there was something special about her. She was kind, genuine, and seemed to be going through a rough patch. He wonders what her story is and whether she's doing okay. He makes a mental note to check in on her soon. As he gets in his car and starts driving, his mind is still swirling with thoughts of the young lady. He's struck by how her authenticity and vulnerability stood out in a world of superficiality and pretense. She had a depth and rawness to her that he rarely encountered. He starts to wonder if he could do something to help her, to make her life a little easier. But then he shakes his head, feeling foolish. What could he possibly do to help someone he barely knew? White opts for a more subtle approach. He called her, asking how she's doing and abruptly cut the call after just a few words were spoken.
