TOXIC OBSESSION

HE CONFESSED

The ride home after the party was slient, Lian was still wrapped up in his own world, he still couldn't believe Lucas had just confessed his feelings to him, he only saw Lucas as his elder brother and nothing more.

" Are you going to tell me what's going on? And don't get me that bullshit that it's nothing. It's obvious something is wrong" Nick asked concerned as he packed the car right in front of their house.

" Lucas confessed" Lian said in a low tone as though his voice was gone

" What?!!"

" Lucas confessed his feelings to me" Lian said louder than before,

" Oh my gosh, what? How? Deeds, Lian, deeds" he said all excited, he was expecting something like this sooner or later

" I still can't believe" he said running his finger through his hair

" Just calm down, I told you didn't I? But someone refused to believe me" Nick said with a proud smile on his face

" This is bad how I'm I going to face him again?" Lian asked looking at Nick who was find each and every gesture he made amusing

" Well look at the bright side you're not going to be working for him anymore" he pointed out

" And that's suppose to make me feel what?"

" Better I guess, okay I'm sorry but what did you tell him, that's more important right now"

" I couldn't say a word I just stared at him, I was too shocked to produce and words from my head and in addition he didn't give a chance to, he said he didn't want an answer right away but he felt like he should tell about it" he said almost in a panic state.

" Wow this is just amazing, Lian I think maybe you do think about it, at least Lucas deserves that, he has been here ever since you started working at the cafe and plus he's a good guy, it took him this long to gather him encourage to confess to you I think that's something"

" But I don't like him in that way" Lian replied moving his eyes towards the window.

Nick took a deep breath in before reaching out to his friend with his hand " listen to me, nobody is telling you to have feelings for him, I just want you to think about it. Lucas isn't a bad guy, you know him pretty well which means you both won't bother going through the stress of getting to know each and most importantly he likes you Lian just think about it wouldn't you?" He said squeezing his hand a bit. Lian wasn't ready for any relationship of any sort with anyone and definitely not Lucas, he had a huge respect for him and dating him was out of the options.

" Don't tell me you're still thinking about Cobi?" Nick asked cutting off Lian's thoughts, his silence answered Nick's questions.

" You are unbelievable Lian, it's been a year. A f*****g year and you're still thinking about him, he left without a trace. Maybe it destiny that you just cross paths once and nothing more" he explained trying to break into his friends conscience.

" I'm not going to force you to do want you don't like but Lucas has been here for you and he will continue to be here but there's every possiblity that you will never meet Cobi ever again, so why not live your life rather than regretting it later' he advised.

" I will think it" Lian muttered after realising his friend mist be dumb but he was making a lot of sense at some point

" What? I can hear you!"

" Argh! I said I will think about it" he said louder

" That's my baby boy, can we now go in and get some rest because I am really tired" Nick said as he pulled open the door of the car.

Lian got down carring his present he got from the party, they were a bit much that Nick had the help out as well in order to prevent Lian from carring them twice.

Nick dropped the gift boxes on Lian's bed before leaving to take a shower.

Lian took off his shirt to do the same before realising he still had the necklace that Lucas wore him around his neck. He walked towards the mirror, the piece of jewelry sat well on his neck, he couldn't help but smile before pulling out a picture that was beside the table, the picture have two young boys in it both children in the picture were happy and smiling, they were both dressed smartly in their uniforms.

Lian stared at the picture for a while before tying his towel around his waist and head off to have his bath.

Lucas was also a panic mess, his mind ran in circles on how Lian would avoid him and things between them was going to be awkward, the fact that Lian had a shocked face made him wish to take back all he just said a couple of minutes ago.

" Would you calm down, it's not the end of the world" his sister voice as she turned the hot water into the cup before mixing the tea.

" I am calm" he said still pacing up and down the room

" I can see really calm, here drink this, it would calm your nerves" she said passing him the cup of tea she made

" Thank you" Lucas said Ashe managed to sit.

" Alright first what did he say when you confessed?"

" Nothing! He didn't say a word" he explained before sipping from the cup of tea.

" He must have been shock and not expecting you to confess or have feelings for him, it's absolutely normal. Why on earth are you panicking he didn't reject you did he?"

" I didn't give him the chance to, before he could say anything I already made sure we were inside"

" Lucas!" She called out as she slapped her forehead gently with her hand,

" What? This isn't the time to scold me" he said looking at her

" I know that but you should have waited for him to say something about it and not just running away like a chicken"

" I was scared"

" There should be a reason you should be scared you're a amazing man and everyone who had you will be a very lucky one but for now I'll suggest you asked Lian on a date, then let him give you his answer and whatever it may be you have to accept it whole heartedly, do you understand"

" I do but I can't ask him for a date, I don't even know how I am going to face his anymore"

" Lucas! For crying out loud you're a mature man you should be able to handle this on you own, before I chased Garvin I gather my courage and you need to do the same and make Lian realize you're the right one for him" she advised

" Fine I'll try but tomorrow is going to be awkward than ever".
