CHAPTER 26: LILY

Lucas got home quite late because of traffic on the road, he got into his house and was shocked to see his sister sitting on the couch.

" What the hell!! you almost gave me a heart attack" he said as he stared at her blatantly

" And where are you coming from? where have you been all day? and I also need an answer as to why did you leave your phone at the cafe?"she inquired

" I should be asking you that question, why are you in my house and how did you get in here?" Nick asked in return

" I still have the spare key you gave me you dummy" she replied with a smile on her face

" Really, I just had that lock change last week" he informed looking at his sister with a suspicious eyes, his sister had a smirk plastered on her face almost immediately.

" Fine you caught me, I was worried I thought something bad had happened to you inside and just couldn't go back home, I thought of waiting for you inside, besides it has been raining all day and you don't expect me to go into the rain with Cherry

" Yeah, make excuses keep making excuses but next time please do not break into my house again" he said

" Yes sir, so now can you tell me where you're coming from at this hour and how you left your cafe unattended" she asked her brother again wanting to know all the details of his whereabouts.

" Why are you so concerned about my whereabouts?" Lucas asked

" First, I'm your sister and secondly come on Lucas could you just tell me where you were?" She said trying to act cute,

" I know you wouldn't let it go if I don't tell you, I took Lian to the hospital" he finally answered

" What, what happened to him? Is he alright?" She was worried that something must had happened to Lian

" Nothing happened to him, it was actually his father that got hurt. He had a heart attack but he's fine now" he explained further

" OMG!! that must have been scary for him" she said thinking about how Lian must have felt

" Yeah it's sad, he's actually fine and Lian is okay now but his father is still unconscious when I left but he's alive" he explained

" OMG I can't imagine how he must be feeling right now that actually sucks"

" Yeah it does, he was pretty very worried and anxious when were driving to the hospital but I'm just glad that nothing happened to his father, if not he is definitely going to be in a bad shape" he concluded

" Well that's a relief! So you're still going after Lian?" She inquired

" I will, I'm going to make sure he changes his mind but if he really doesn't want me in his life I would allow him be, I won't force anything on him" he explained

" That's the spirit, I'm so happy you've decided that" she encouraged.

" Where is Cherry, I don't see her anywhere" Nick at remembering she told him she brought his niece. " I thought you said she came along?" He questioned

" Oh Gavin came to pick her up about an hour ago, she has the habit of not sleeping in an environment where she's not used to" she explained

" Well thanks for the concern" he appreciated once more

" Of course, I should be concerned and worried, you are my family" she said grabbing her bag about to leave.

" Wait don't tell me you are leaving, isn't it quite late

" What do miss me so much that want me to spend the night here with you?" She ask

" No but it's f*****g 11:30 p.m.!"

" I know, I just wanted to make sure you are fine and now that I know that you are fine no limbs missing nor any body parts I'll be on my way, see you buddy" she said about to leave

" Do you want me to drop you off?" Lucas asked being considerate

" Nope, you just spent half of your day driving you need to get some sleep and rest don't worry, I already called myself a cab and I think it's going to be here any minute from now so see you, love you"

" Love you more and be careful."

With that she blew a kiss to her brother before leaving.
