Nick and Lian returned back home after shopping with his sister,
" I can't believe you spent that much money on Lily, she's just a child and you're spoiling her, you should learn to say no" Lian said
" Yeah said the same guy there got her the designer bag she wanted for her birthday" Nick point out rolling his eyes
" That's different she's my sister"
" So is she to me and besides it was my spare change and I don't have a problem spending it on her as long as it makes her happy" he said grabbing some off the bags from the car, been in a family of just boys made Lily very precious to Nick which made his take care of each and every request she had.
Lian also helped to carry his bag and the food bag his mom insisted that they should carry.
" Mom didn't really need to pack all these for us" Nick said as he dropped them on the dinner table
" Well I had no choice because she wouldn't let me hear the end of it if I refused any of this" he explained putting the edibles into the refrigerator while Nick unpacked the rest,
" I'm glad your Dad is alright"
" Me too, I really did not want to see my mom broken again" Lian said having quick flashbacks to the time his mom was at that bridge.
" I'm glad she's alright as well. This week is going to be your last at the cafe right?"
" Yes I think so" Lian replied not sure about that decision yet
" you need to start preparing for the new semester, you need all the help you can get. You also need to go shopping for perfect outfit you can use" Nick pointed out.
" I know all of that very well you don't need to remind me, I don't just want to leave the cafe without letting Lucas know about it, he may know about my new job but I need to let him aware before leaving" he explained
" Hmm that's true but I don't think it will actually make a difference either way, but it's up to you if you want to" he said before carry on with what he was doing.

It was Monday as usual, one of the days Nick hated. He left the house together with Lian, the road was a bit dusty but there were not much vehicles as the left for work really early.
" Would you wipe that frown from you face, you need to concentrate on you case in other for you to win" Lian spoke as Nick drove with a frown, besides not liking Mondays he wasn't a morning person, but Lian could wake up as early as 3 am and not feel a thing.
" This is unfair, we weren't on weekend for Long and it Monday morning again, I feel cheated" he said with his eyes on the road.
" That's because you're very much lazy" Lian pointed out
" Say whatever you want to say but I know that there are a million people who hate Mondays just like I do" he said before packing to let Lian down.
" I'm sure the right word is that you're lazy, nothing more" Lian said before coming down.
The cafe was already opened, he walked in to see Lucas.
" You're here quite early" Lian said watching him wipe the tables
" I'm just trying to get use to the fact that you won't be working for us anymore" he said before turning to Lian's direction " I'm definitely going to miss you" he added before continuing with his work, Lian on the other hand felt a bit bad about the entire issue, he really didn't want to leave the cafe and at the same moment he couldn't wait to start teaching. He went inside and got changed before the morning rush started, after a while Lucas went out and bought him lunch.
" There's really no need for this" Lian voiced
" I know that, I just felt like getting you something, I can tell you're hungry" he said handling him the food before leaving, Lian looked at the food in his hand and back at Lucas with a smile before walking off to eat it.
" I guess you're still going after him" Garvin spoke noticing Lucas's move
" Isn't that the right thing to do, he didn't reject me and I think I may have a chance" he said
" Well with that smile on his face I would agree to that, what about taking him out, I could make up an excuse for you both to go out, what do you think?" Garvin suggested
" I don't know I would not want to push it" Lucas said
" Don't worry trust me" he said with a smile plastered on his face.
Lian's shift was almost over when Garvin called him to the side say it was something very important.
" What's it about?" Lian asked
" Well, I bought a movie tickets for me and my wife to go watch a movie but she called to tell me not to buy the tickets which I already bought" he said pulling out the tickets from his pocket " turns out we would not be going to the movies anymore but Cherry is ill, long story short I don't want the tickets to go to waste so I wanted to ask if you could go to the movies with Lucas, you know pretty well that he doesn't have friends and I don't want him to go Alone" he explained, Lian was less busy after work and Nick was going to be working late, which meant he will be at home doing nothing.
" I will go, you don't have to worry" he announced, immediately a wide smile appeared on Gavin's face.
" Thank you so much for this I promise I owe you one" he said handling over the tickets to Lian.
