THE SINCLAIR MANSION
The Sinclair mansion, located at the edge of the Sinclair estate, is a three-story mansion standing tall and wide, its exterior a mixture of smooth white walls, dark stone, and black metal accents, giving it that quiet expensive look.
Floor-to-ceiling windows stand blindly at the front of the house, with a glass balcony and a golf course sitting on the top of the top level. Behind the building is a large swimming pool, and a few kilometers from it is a greenhouse.
Its interior has smooth cream walls and big glass windows that catch the sunlight. Thick dark curtains are spread at the glass window of the ground floor in the case of needed privacy. Expensive chandeliers hang from its ceiling, illuminating each floor when it gets dark.
The floating glass and steel bridge staircase spirals between each floor, illuminated and suspended, giving the interior of the mansion a heavenly look. Each floor has its own sitting room with its own different designs.
The ground floor contains four guest rooms, a modern kitchen, a karaoke room, a gym, and a cinema. The second floor contains three bedrooms. One belonging to Grandpa Walters and the other to his wife, Fiona. But the last room was empty.
The top floor contains three bedrooms too. One belonged to Diane, the other to Carla, and the last was used by Diane as a study room.

DIANE'S POV
I had just finished my morning run around. I sat close to the kitchen island, my laptop in front of me and a cup of coffee beside it. I had to work on my final project work for school so I had no time to go in and freshen up.
I looked up to see grandpa Walters walking down the stairs, all dressed up for work.
"Morning, Grandpa,” I greeted softly, putting down my coffee to go make another. "Did you sleep well?”
He sat down on one of the island stools beside mine and shrugged. "Well, since I'm already used to the insomnias, I can say I did.”
I placed a cup of coffee in front of him with a sad expression. “I'm so sorry about that. When's your next therapy session?”
He took a sip of the coffee and sighed. "I don't know, maybe Thursday.”
"Don't lose focus, Grandpa. You need to get relief from this insomnia." I replied, typing away on my laptop.
"What are you doing?” he questioned with a raised brow.
"I've got a project to submit for my final exams,” I replied without looking at him.
"Oh, what's..."
“Good morning, my darling," Fiona said aloud as she stepped into the room in her flowing nightgown.
I rolled my eyes and gulped down the rest of my coffee swiftly, then stood to wash it.
Fiona placed a heavy peck on Grandpa Walter's cheeks and ruffled his hair. Her mood instantly went sour when she saw me. “Are you going to pretend not to see me, Diane?"
I faked a smile and said half-heartedly. "Morning, step grandma."
I hated her, and her daughter. They've always treated me badly. I hated being in the same space with them. So all I wanted to do right now was leave.
"This b***h,” she murmured to herself and angrily turned to Grandpa Walters. “Did you hear that?"
“It's too early for this, please," He grunted and stepped out with his coffee.
I tried to walk out only for her to stand on my path. I rolled my eyes and sighed. “What do you want?"
“You're so cheap, do you know that?" She accused.
"Oh, here we go again," I replied. “For the last time, Fiona, I'm not cheap; your daughter is."
I was used to the names they constantly called me. Sometimes I ignored it, other times I fired back if I couldn't take it.
She raised an arm to hit me but stopped midway. She was surprised to see that I didn't flinch. Of course she wouldn't dare hit me.
“You’re lucky your grandpa is still here. I promise you, one day I'll make you suffer.”
Just then, Carla walked down the stairs, yawning, her hair disheveled. “Well, well, well, what a good way to spoil my morning. Mom, what's this beggar doing here?”
"She was just about to leave," Fiona replied.
I shook my head slowly and turned towards the stairs. As I made to move past Carla, she purposely bumped into me, causing me to stagger towards the railing. My laptop dropped from my hand, loudly hitting the floor.
"Noo!” I screamed as I quickly picked it up, devastated. But the damage was already done. Its screen was cracked, and parts of the keyboard were scattered on the floor.
Even though I knew all my important files were safe, it still annoyed me so much that she would cause this to happen. My hatred for them grew as my blood boiled but I didn't react.
Carla smirked. “Oops, I didn't see you there." She said as she and her mom walked away, laughing and making a mockery of me.
This wasn't the first time they were doing something like this. I gathered the keyboard pieces in my palms, my other hand squeezed hard on the broken laptop.
I climbed up the stairs, taking a glance at the mother and daughter duo at the kitchen island. They were laughing out loud, using my name as a topic of a joke.
One day, just one day, I'll retaliate and show them who's boss. But for now, I was only interested in gathering my assets.
